I'm gonna switch over to a different rest. What's stalls opinions on the Ripcord Ace? I've used the QAD Ultra HDX on myChill-R, but noticed a little bit before I give it to my friend the launcher was bouncing up causing contact & im tired of messing with the Apache Carbon.

I've had no issues with the QAD's that I have but my number one preference is the Trophy Taker SmackDown Pro.

QAD. I've had great luck and like it better than my trophy taker.

What "messing" do you need to so with the Apache Carbon? I have then on 3 bows. They are easy to set up and I never touched them since then. I have at least 4000 shot on 2 of those bows with zero issues. I wen to them because of the simplicity of there design with 1 moving part. I have no need to have the launcher stay up if I let down. When I let down slowly, so does the launcher. It doesn't have 20 plastic parts inside either.

I had 3 QAD all with issues, difficult to raise the launcher. Even OFF the bow. They made scraping sound until it took a wrench to raise the launcher. I have 3 ripcord Code Reds that are nice but a little loud. Not as loud as the QAD though.

As long as the QAD's launcher isn't resting directly on the shelf when down, I've never had any problems with bounce back. I have mine installed to where there is about a 1/8" gap between the shelf and the launcher when it's at rest.

I have 2 Apache Carbons. The one on my Arena 30 is ok. But on my Nitrum Turbo no matter what I do I get fleching contact. I've went as far as cutting in side off of the launcher to try to help & it did a little. The only way I don't get contact is with 3" feathers. But they are very noisy & really don't care for the way they fly.

Not trying to be a wise acre. Just trying to help. What is the fletching contacting? Riser? Cable?. If the next rest holds the arrow in the same place, won't you have the same contact? Or is the vanes hitting the rest? If it is, it's not set up right.

QAD HDX is the only drop away rest I've ever used going from a whisker biscuit. I hunted with it last year and never once had any issues. I looked around at other rests when I got my Halon 6 and I still ended up getting the QAD. I've shot with it a few times now and no issues at all. I wish they would make the bar that go's across the top out of aluminum just like the forks though.

I have a QAD HDX, it was the first drop away rest that I owned. I have never had an issue with it.

I understand. I've had 2 shops look at it & they can't tell me anything. The fleching is hitting the launcher arm on the right side. I've even went as far as cutting some of the arm off & it help a little. But still hits. Also clocked & reclocked the once nocked. Now on my Arena 30 I have the same rest & have no problems out of it.

I went to Gander Mountain just to look around & picked up a ATX Titanium Recon to tryout. They had it on sale for $80. We'll see what happens.

Last season I used the QAD Hunter that came with my Charger. I had fletching contact issues with it and it was loud compared to my Smackdown Pro. The Smackdown Pro is quiet and was simple to install.

My QAD Ultra has been flawless for 2.5 years. Is there an adjustment that can be made for the rebound problem?
