I have the qad hunter rest on my bow. Went to shoot it yesterday an the rest is making fletching contact. All my blazer vanes have black streaks running thru them and the felt on the rest is tore up from contact. Had a shop install it when I bought it but seems they didn't do it right I'm assuming. Looked at tech help on their site and didn't help any. Any suggestions on a fix or better off getting new rest? And I know the hunter doesn't have the lock down feature either.

You might want to make sure it's setup correctly. I just put the Hunter on my new Rogue and am very happy with it. When the shop first set it up they had the cord way too tight, which keeps the rest up longer. Didn't have any problems with it, just didn't like the extra stress it put on the rest and the buss cable. I've been shooting arrows with Quickspin vanes, which are very large, and have had no problems. I have the LD version on my Monster, and have no problems with it either. I was told the lock-down versions were better for faster bows.

Also. it comes with two different arms. One is 1/8" taller...might need to use that one.

When they set it up they didn't give me any of the other parts with it either. But the cable may be to tight. Is there a way to know if it is?

Best way is to look at the timing marks. There are two little lines on the rest near the thumb paddle. When the bow is at full draw , those lines should line up with each other. The rest shouldn't come up to 90 degrees until about 4" from full draw, roughly.

Timing marks line up fine that was first thing I checked. Seems like its no dropping fast enough. I also don't think the nock is set right according to what qad says. The felt around the fork is tore up all around. Sides and bottom from the vanes hitting

Yea, something's not right. My nock is set just a little higher than level when you hold the rest up to 90 degress...not quite 1/8", more like 1/16". That might change after shooting a few broadheads today, seems I have a little more tuning to do myself.

If a shop set it up, you should go back and talk to them. If you start changing things, they are no longer responsible.
