I saw a product adverised called thermascent, same thing as thermacell. Why not take come bar coasters cut them to size and saturate them with the scent of your choice? You can even dilute the scent with water and really make it last. I was just thinkin'

So Andy, when are you going to host your first Thermascent party?

You might be on to something here. Thermascent parties would be all the rage during the off-season.

Why wouldn't it work? The scent would be warmed up and evaporated off the pad. I'll give it a try this year and let you know!

You could also buy some of those hanging scents for your car and cut them to fit... use it as air freshner in the house!!! I like it!

I think I am gonna justify a thermcell purchase, by telling the wife it will keep the bugs away at the campsite while we are playing cards at night. I wish you guys had made me think of it sooner in the summer.

The white oaks started falling last week at my work and I collected about 75 or so acorns and brought them home.
I threw them in a boiling pan and covered them with about a inch of water until a boil. I do this so they grind up easy in the blender.
I pour it all into the blender and grind it and once I get it pretty mushy I pour them in my old water bottles and freeze them. Note sometimes you may have to add more water of course. Also if you dont freeze them it can go bad quick.
When the season comes when I get out into the woods near my stand I pour some on top of my boots and then some on the ground and
twist my boots into it the head to my stand. I know your not suppose to walk on their trails but some of my stands I have no choice.
Well last year I didnt use this method and ol momma doe was on me right away. In years past Ive done this and I swear every deer that came walking by
did not have nerves of steal if you know what I mean. Back in 2002 I had a doe bust me opening day right where I walked and she would no come in.
So the 2nd day I use my juice and walked right down that runway and my nice little 8 point come walking right in nibbling as he came into my shooting lane and BAM.
Its all natural with this and thats the way I like it.
