Would be interesting to hear what QDM and deer feeders think of the Purina deer feed product line. Their approach to antler growth seems to take a slightly different path that is normally suggested.

I haven't touched it just because of the simple fact that Record Rack is cheaper in my area

I haven't seen any locally yet. Record rack is made by purinas main competitor....Cargill. I've used it in the winter mixed with corn. I don't feed in the summer months...no need where I hunt. I wouldn't be opposed to trying some this winter.

Purina's feed is higher protein, they believe that high protein is needed for bucks to develop bigger racks, I do believe they may be gearing their feed for pen deer, rather than wild deer.

    Animals resist change.
    Some companies "float tags"
    Some companies buy rejected products.

I never bought from companies that did #2 or #3. I know which companies do both and it's even part of the marketing for the software one of them push..

So, as vague as that might be, that's why i could never work for a large company as i am a nutritionist.

I saw a commercial for it but I don't have plans to try it. I've been mixing alfalfa pellets with my corn and the deer have absolutely destroyed it. The best part is, it's upwards of 16-18% crude protein where corn is only around 8%.

I haven't used it for quite a while. When I did use it the raccoons absolutely loved it. Deer, not so much. Didn't seem to matter the presentation I gave them either. When it gets wet it is done. I stick with a corn, soybean, wet molasses mix. The deer are almost standing waiting for me to dump it out. I use this during the winter after season until spring green-up. We have a mill near us that will mix just about anything up for you as long as it is in #500 lots. Great deal!!

I wish I could say I am suprized by this response, Nutritionist is too smart to work for a successful company.

I tried it once but the deer would not eat it alone. Had to mix in with corn so I switched to alfalfa pellets as its easier to find.

Thanks for the input. I will stick to what I am feeding now.
