I posted a picture of this the other day in one of the other topics. I can't believe how simple it is and why it took me so long to come across it. I've been looking for a way that's a little bit faster than tying a bowline around my bow to pull it up into the tree. Metal carabiners are too loud and plastic ones break. Originally, I made this to hoist up a hang-on stand, but it works for the bow, too. It's about 5" of arrow shaft left over from when I built my arrows. I slid some rubber heat shrink over it and threw a clove hitch on it. I just tuck it under the limbs of the bow, or in the holes of the stand platform and I'm good to go. It's cheap, quiet and fast. I may do a smaller one that is just for the bow and not the stand.

ever worried about that twisting the wrong way?

I just use a carabiner with hockey tape.

    Nice idea!

I personally go with clips that are just over a buck. They do not break and almost no noise. I like something that attaches to the cam or bow...that way if I have to pull it a bit or just stuck going up or down, it's a non issue. Would use tape if I was concerned about any noise issues.

Good idea for the stand end. But I would be worried about hitting a branch or brush.

I've used it a few times so far both through the cam and through the limbs. Both seem to work fine. It's way more secure through the cam, but faster through the limb. I cut a limb the other night and it landed on the top limb of the bow and I was able to pull it through without any issues. I can't take credit for the idea, Lone Wolf makes a product that I thought I could do at no cost.

Good idea, but i've had far too many times where i'm pulling my bow up and it gets stuck in branches and i need to give it a little tug. I use a cheap carabiner with camo gorilla tape on it.

I simply tie the line to the stirrup or a hole in the back of the stock on my crossbow. No noise, no tape to undo and the knot comes out quick and easy if you tie it right.

Very good idea there. Might be a problem if you're not using a split-limb bow? I use a heavy duty plastic key ring clip (non-swivel). Run line under/around limb, clip back to line, voilà.

I just tie a 4" loop on the end of my pull rope and slide the rope thru my split limb or hole in the riser then over my stabilizer. Can't really come off unless you try real hard..... I put a carabiner on my backpack to attach to the loop on the rope;) Your way works too, good thinking!!!

yup, and they also work as a grapple hook in case you drop your glove, hat, release, coat, cell phone (no BS,) quiver (also not BS) fanny pack, and/or about anything that weighs under 10lbs.

I agree. I've just been using two half hitches and have NEVER had it fail. Totally quiet, and simple to untie.

The 5" shaft system is not secure enough for me. I use a small S-hook (rubber coated with Dip-It) and a loop/knot about 16" above it. I just go under the limb and put the S-hook on the loop. Room to put my pack and/or jacket in there too.
