I'm thinking if only the corporations ruled this country Obama would not be our president. I don't see many fat cats happy with that.
Really? look again ObamaCare 275 corp do not have to follow the law they are exempt. Along with congress and goverment health care plans. Is this a goverment of the people? Obama number one campaign donor? Oil companies Our elected officials are bought, very few are not. It does not take long for them to get bought I don't diasgree with Wis Gov stance, nor yours. One thing in college I learned was in a class I had to take, but the prof said one thing that has always stuck with me. This is from memory "If you think America does not have a monarch you are dead wrong. The differnce is in American the Peasants get bigger slice of the pie"
It's about rights, not about pay/benefits. These unions people are all agreeing to increasing pay toward these things, but they don't want to be stripped of their rights. This bill is going to make things much worse, if its such a great thing why is the ******bag trying to rush it through, why not look at the big picture, take time and look at all things its gong to affect, long term???
I understand what you're getting at. And I partially agree with you. I think you're referring more towards utilizing my time wisely (other than something a $10 an hour person can do). I can assure you I dont spend my day cleaning toilets and cutting grass. Would I if it needed to be done and nobody was there to do it? Yeah. Could I put a bunch of small odds and ends on one of my employees lists to get done so I can utilize my time where I'm needed? Yeah... pretty much what I do everyday. However (and this is where it starts getting "different") owning a business, especially a small one, you better be ready willing and able to take care of whatever may arise. Should I hire a janitor everytime the toilet needs cleaning? Plumber everytime a trap is clogged or element replaced in a hot water heater? Hire an electrician everytime a bulb needs changing or outlet malfunctions? Marketing person? Mechanic to work on equipment? Pesticide applicator? Golf pro? Accountant? Payroll service company? Irrigation technician? Landscaper? Carpenter for remodelling? Direct tv everytime problem with dish? phone company if i want to move a line? etc... etc... etc.... Where does it end? Wouldn't be in business very long if you out serviced everything. So yeah I agree about utilizing my time doing what the people under me can't do. That's just simple good management. But if something comes up and needs attention my first reaction isn't going to be pick up the phone and pay someone to take care of it. Matter of fact that's my last resort. And it's the first (and only) option for others.
This is part of the bill that is wrong IMO. If he wants to make them pay more for their healthcare, retirement that is fine. He is trying to bust these unions up. We had a bill last year here in MI I supported, Teachers had to start paying into the retirement fund. If the Wisc bill was about balancing the budget and only the budget, I don't think Wis teachers/union would be in a uproar.
Uhhh, never said that at all. I am not above anything either. I am not some big wig in the government, merely a low level stupid and lazy manager of about 10 staff that includes janitors, kitchen staff, etc. I routinely perform parts of their job without flinching. Like you, I have fixed toilets, sinks, performed medical treatment, and everything else under the sun....when I could have ordered someone else to do it. So please, again, stop putting words in my mouth. Also, I just returned from an interview for another pathetic and unimportant public sector job. Man I am a lazy creep and could not survive in the "real world" of business.
Walker pushed through $140 million in new spending for special-interest groups in January. Why????? In 1 MONTH he's put us further and further in debt!
Wow Brett, what's going on lately? Are you ok? Maybe I'm reading some of your recent posts wrong and I'm not trying to be a smart ass. I actually don't know you from nobody, but your demeanor (for lack of a better word) has really changed lately. It's not just this thread/issue. I'm sincerely concerned. Hope all is well.
Ben, my demeanor has not changed one bit actually. I get tired of people putting words in my mouth. I try not to do that to other people. I debate using their words, not some made up bit that fits my personal agenda. If I come across strong on this thread or a thread on religion, well that is just me on occasion. Sometimes things strike me the wrong/right way and that is just the way it is. Please do not think anything is wrong with me, because actually things are going really well. Maybe I need some sleep.
Thanks for asking Ben, I appreciate it. Maybe I am a little high strung lately. Six months of a job application process is taking it's toll a bit. Sometimes it is good to hear someone else's perspective because one might be oblivious to their own crap.
How can applying for a public sector job take its toll? Those jobs are easy to get, require the work ethic of a sloth and the intelligence of a chimpanzee. How can applying for that type of job take its toll?
"They" are asking questions like whether I piss on the floor of my own bathroom as a reason to not hire me. "One" strike and I am out. See ya.
Now Senate Democrats have left the State of Wisconsin to try and prevent a vote. Now THIS is democracy at work!!!! http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/116381289.html Madison — Law enforcement officers are searching for Democratic senators boycotting a Senate vote on Gov. Scott Walker's budget-repair plan Thursday in an attempt to bring the lawmakers to the floor to allow Republicans to move forward with action on the bill. One Democratic senator said that he believed at least most of the members of his caucus are in another state. At least one, however, Sen. Chris Larson (D-Milwaukee) said he was still in his Capitol office listening to constituents. In a press conference just off the Senate floor, Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) said that Democrats were "not showing up for work" and that police were searching for them to bring them to the floor. "That's not democracy. That's not what this chamber is about," Fitzgerald said of the boycott to reporters. Sen. Tim Cullen (D-Janesville) confirmed Thursday that Democrats are boycotting the Senate action on the bill in efforts to block a quorum and keep the measure from passing. Because 20 senators of the 33-member house are needed to be present to pass a fiscal bill, the body's 19 Republicans will not be enough to pass the budget repair bill without at least one Democrat present. "They can't pass this bill if there's not a Democrat in the chamber," Cullen said. Cullen said he believed at least most of the Democrats were now outside Wisconsin, though he declined to say where. "I think they're all out of state. I am anyway," Cullen said.
No matter what your position is on this issue, I think we all have to admit what the democrats are now pulling is WRONG!.
