LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU KILL ME!!! Listen, Gary.....how many do you think would show up for work tomorrow morning, if the ultimatum was laid down...."Show up at 7:00 in your classrooms....or you're fired"? Now....the small figure remaining won't pose too much of a problem to replace the ones who are either close to retirement.......or ignorant.
I can tell you right now, if a bunch of detention workers at my work failed to show up to work for JUST one day because they felt violated by our county and expressed those concerns publicly, they would be terminated.
Never mind their current contractsAre you just going to null and void them? I am sure they all will be highly motivated after your move. Almost as good as Becks plan I watch last night.
Not really people in politcs suck. Fear of being fired is the worst way to keep any employee motivated. If someone is in fear of getting fired, they will work just hard enough not to get fired. I asked this 20 pages ago, Montana Gov balances the budget and got all the consessions he needed, how did he do it?
Germ, are the teachers violating any part of their contracts by not being at work?( I don't know how it works in Wisconsin) And if so, what are the consequences of those violations per their county's personnel policies?
They have personel days I think. So they can call in and take a personel day when ever they want I think. At least here in MI it's handled by the district. I don't know about Wis.
My wife is given three personal days a year in our school system. If she took off a fourth day it would be leave without pay and she would potentially be subject to termination if that fourth day was not cleared through the county.
Nope. No need to. THEY would void them, via their insubordination or dereliction of duties. Either way......they'd do it to themselves.
Great plan Jeff!! I asked this 20 pages ago, Montana Gov balances the budget and got all the consessions he needed, how did he do it? Anyone on the above?
Are you sure it's apples to apples? IDK if it is or it isn't. The financial and political spectrum may be completely different. Just because something worked in MT doesn't mean it will work in Wisconsin. Are the unions as strong in MT? Again, IDK if they are or aren't. Based on work my company has done there I believe they are not very strong. Did MT have previous administration that put them in a 3 billion dollar hole?
The graph said the same thing I been saying for years, As the assults on unions continue, their numbers decline and so does the middle class. As they chip away at the Unions they chip away at the Middle Class. The average middle class family has the same income as in 2000, yet Corporate profit continues to soar and the top 1/10 of 1% has went from 1.4 million to over 6 million a year in the last 30 years. American workers get more and more productive every year but they don't see any return on their work. Their increased productivity does nothing to help the workers, it just enriches those at the top. Best thing that has happened in the last 30 years is the tax cuts for the rich and the following assult by Republicans on unions and public workers. People are beginning to see the big picture again, it's not just a union thing, it's an all out American middle class thing.
And honestly, I think he should. These days, more and more, I notice politicians just cater to thier constituency. Then back and forth, it goes. But saying that, I have grew up around the UMW my whole life. I was a member of the UFCW for years. There rarely is a compromise when it comes to money and benefits. If the public unions are anything like them, I am not sure it would help. When I was a member of the UFCW, we litterly bankrupted a company. Now, nobody had a job. What I learned in my 5 years in this union was, there was a good aspect to the union, and that was safety on the job. Then you had the bad dark side. Which was senority. Didn't matter how good a worker you was, didn't matter how fast and efficiently you did your job. Didn't matter about quality as long as you were good enough. Only mattered how much senority you had. And this wrong.
I am not sure I follow. We teach our kids that two wrongs don't make a right. Shouldn't adults also follow this advise?
