Can they say "no"? Of course they can. Seems they're trying to, anyways.

If the money's not there to fund it.........what else can they do?

Isn't the issue here....the union workers wishing to hold onto their extortion rights?

BTW...why can't the teachers simply protest on the weekends?

It's not extortion if they can say no.

    This easy:

Wis State here's the deal Teachers.

Teachers we don't like that deal, we want this deal.

Wis State, we cannot pay that deal, here 's what we can do.

Teachers well we don't want that deal either

    Wis State - Bye

I would love for MI gov or President to veto a bill that over spends. They can do the above today without the bill in question.

What bothers you so much about the bill in question, Gary?

    Be specific.

I find this hole issue strange from the standpoint of senators and congressmen who are over paid, and dont show up half the time for there jobs!!!
and then get heath care for( life )on are dime.
How did we get in this mess in the first place. Talk about entitlement. Both sides are guilty and both talk out both sides of there mouth, but they all have had there hand out for a long time.

Is anyone really shocked at how this toilet is spinning. We elect new goverment for a change and the old goverment that is on staff corrupts the new people as "This is how things are done here in Washington"

City's and states, governments spend more than they take in lets face it,
Take a look around you and see what tax attorney that has not found a way to make a business or a member of congress or oil company not pay any taxes from wall street to main street.

someone has to pay taxes right or there will be no infrastructure no tools and no schools for the next generation right?
Well guess how this is working out so far.....:argue:

The state is not going to even invite them to the table, there's a difference.

At first, I just thought this was a union debacle. I figured it was just more of their SOP.

Then, the more coverage I get ahold of, I see LOTS of teachers protesting. Not only that.....but, they have their students out there with them.

Like I said.......give them one day to come back to work (and to submit their sick days they missed). If they're not there on that next day.....fire their asses and hire more teachers. End of extortion.

When will employees learn that the people paying their salaries make (most of) the rules? This is lunacy.

    Germ,

You are not understanding the whole story.

The unions and the last democrat Governor in late December tried to agree on a quick deal behind the backs of everyone after Walker was elected. This was post election. They knew this was coming and they tried to do a back door agreement without negotiating with the governor elect knowing they could get a better deal than with Walker. The only reason that did not happen is because it was exposed. They didn't want to negotiate with him if they could get a sweetheart deal. Now they want to negotiate. How convenient.

Walker's point is you didn't want to negotiate with me prior me being sworn in I'm not going to negotiate with you now. His other point is that this is not about negotiating, this is about balancing the budget. He needs to balance the budget. That is what he was elected to do. It was how his whole campaign was run on. He told everyone he would do this while he was running. This should not be a surprise.

I want everyone to be clear about this bill because there is a lot of mis-information being stated on here.

Walker's bill does not end collective bargaining for public employees. There will still be a union and the union will still be able to collectively bargain. This bill only limits what can be collectively bargained on and also allows public employees to opt out of the union should they choose to.

Scott Walker would be my second choice for POTUS behind Paul Ryan. We need him and I'm glad we have him.

Your state is in chaos, LOL He's all yours. Synder is taking the business man appraoch to our issues. He even is getting rid of tax breaks that are costing the state money and raising taxes. Tax he is rasing is on the MilkShakes. He also is gettting rid of the business tax here, which is huge. He is doing so without being an ass clown:tu:

Huck comes off as a genuinely nice guy, he has a great story to tell, is fairly well (though soft) spoken... I'm not fond of his support of FairTax and his preacher credentials would keep him off the national political stage outside of the bible belt... good man I'm sure, but a tough sell politically
