Bassmaster magazine has an article every month where they take a professional angler to a lake that they have never been to before and they have to try to figure out the lake to catch their limit for the day. I would like to see show like that with "pro" hunters. Give them a couple weeks to try and kill a mature buck some where they have never been
The problem here is simply finding a spare "couple weeks" and a person willing to give up their prime hunting time for such an endeavor. While certainly intriguing, it's a tough thing to do. Although it wasn't public land we did the Campbell Outdoor Challenge in 2007 and 2008. In both cases we were given a piece of property we'd never set foot on and turned loose for 5 days. In 07 I killed a buck on the 4th day and in 08 my buddy Mike killed one on the 2nd day with me behind the camera. Both deer were killed out of Lone Wolf sets that were hung within 48 hours before the hunt - one less than 24 hours. I'd like to do something like that again if I could find the time and right location for it.
Apologies if this has been asked already but is there a thread or link that has the application criteria other than the three previously filmed hunts?
There is no link to the criteria needed. If you have specific questions about the process please email [email protected]. Thanks
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind for future reference. A big chunk of our budget has gone to securing land here in VA and farm equipment but we're still trying to get some decent video gear prior to late summer. Hopefully we can get some good footage over the next season or two.
My hunt in season 4 episode 13 was the first time ever deer hunting that property. Hung a lone wolf at 10am left the woods came back at 430 shot a buck at 615. This year i plan on some early season public land whitetail hunts.
Oh the highs and lows of public land.. Had this deer at 35 yards but noticed my serving had slid up at the bottom of my d loop. Hope he is still around making a trip this weekend!! I'm interested in this BHOD stuff. I have been putting stuff on YouTube for quite a while. I pretty much have all kind of outdoor related stuff on my channel. Is their a link somewhere for requirements to submit videos?
