So I get out to the same spot I spoke about in my previous post. I was quite cold and I did not dress for the weather...mistake #1. The second ordeal was not my mistake but to tell you the truth someone messed up. So I'm sitting in the blind...and out of nowhere a truck pulls into the field i'm hunting and proceeds to fertilize/seed. What made it even better is that they stopped looked over and saw me and went right ahead hitting my blind with whatever they were spreading, had to move my decoys and then waved to me when they were done and leaving. So... My question is. Is this normal on public gamelands? I mean they have to know it is the middle of Turkey Season and people do hunt. Can they not wait 2 weeks? I would really like to meet the guy/gal who made this decision.
My question would be why are they spreading a public lands field? Where they State workers or something?
The public gamelands I go to are kept up very well because they are directly next to a prison. There are multiple food plots of different kinds and a stocked pond. They do a great job but it just seems that this occurance was at the wrong time.
LOLL>LLOOLLLL!! This was in that field with the jake? XDDD That's kind of funny... But you should have said something to him... Man... This past weekend was a blast though. I like getting out and actually walking around, and feeling like I'm doing something. But I'll tell ya. I haven't gotten home before 8pm this whole week! These 13+ hour days are about to start killin' me! Today, I went out to a new site that we acquired, and start providing security for this Friday at midnight... (I'll be there then too... :\ ) The cool part is that it is the ABC tv station around the Raleigh area... I got a pretty sweet tour of the place today. Well, I will talk to you about next next weekend, soon.... If you are still up to it? Maybe call you this weekend, if I can. later dude!
Believe me it was on my mind at the time...I was gonna use one of the broadheads we put together the other night and take out his tire.
I can tell you that around here... the farming/food plots are done on 'get it done when we can' schedule. Spring or Fall. While it seems inconsiderate... understand that they can't really schedule around the hunters. They just have to get in and get it done when they can.
I was thinking more like, throw some poo back at him... but that works too... lol. DUDE, while I was typing this, I just heard a news report saying that 2 or 3 people escaped from a minimum security prison in Morganton, NC.... LOL>>> You didn't happen to see anyone wearing hunter orange coveralls while you were hunting, did you??? LMAO!!!
LOL!! No didn't see any escapees...that's too funny. Guess I shouldn't have picked up those hitch hikers...lol...just kidding.
I hear you on that. I hunt public land too and have had all manner of interruptions. From harvesting to one time they were preparing the woods to burn leaves and saplings.... by using huge leaf blowers. Nothing like have a crew of guys come through the woods with leaf blowers early in the morning to scare off every living thing within a mile.
