I don't really have to worry about ice much however our river depends on the snow melt from the moutains and has to be released out of the reservoir for irrigation systems. So we are really low right now so not many fish. But in another month it will be really good. Take some pictures once you get out I'd love to see them.
Just set ure arrows on fire first.....robin hood style:p Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
Sweet, good news!!!!! Hope i get to check it out, i have yet to handle a tidal wave! The finger savers that come on there are okay, if you find that they are too small or "roll" off your fingers too much, you can use that fuel line like i mentioned before, and that works really well, and yes Pete or I can install them for ya. Its slim, its durable and it comes in a bunch of colors. Cant wait for this ice to melt i have one brand new bow to draw first blood with and another that has had a bunch of mods done to it! Im super excited for some unfrozen water
Nick that is sweet!!! Soon as I get it I will find a time to swing by so you can check it out and make sure it is all setup correctly!! Hopefully we can get out and shoot some fish together soon as the ice is gone!! I don't know where to go around here.
Thanks!! What bodies of water are around you? I bowfish the Kishwaukee river, Illinois river, Desplaines river, Fox river, Shabbona lake... Lots of options just gotta be careful of city regs if you are shore fishing!
I am not really sure what is around me that I would be able to go shoot at but I am going to start looking. I also have a house in Wisconsin just across the state line so I will get out and try if I can get a boat this year!
If your house in WI is in Bristol like your location says.... FOX CHAIN!! Good carp shooting out there and it doesnt look far at all!
Around here I have the Arkansas river a mile away and canals all around me they pool up in. We also have a lot of little lakes around but I haven't bowfished any of them yet.
I don't really have it set up right yet. Think I will go have a nick set it up correctly first so I don't mess it up! Sent from my iPhone 5S using Tapatalk
You can get it shooting for now, ive set up numerous bows in my basement LOL. Eyeball the nock height with the rest, move the finger savers till the arrow sits slightly nock high. Then look down the back of the bow, with arrow nocked, and line up the string with the center of the grip. once that is aligned you will also want the arrow shaft and tip to fall in that line as well. that is a very approximate way to do it and you can tune from there. if the arrow flys tail low, move the rest down. If the tail kicks to the right when you shoot, move the rest out slightly, and vice versa. Bow looks great! you can tie on your arrow using a bowline knot (many youtube vids on it if you do not already know). if you are shooting into the snow or "grass", loosen the tip of the arrow just enough to allow the barbs to turn back around so you can get your arrow back out easy. same for shooting into archery targets just be prepared to shred whatever target you are shooting into lol
I have it pretty good for now but know it needs to be tuned up! Sent from my iPhone 5S using Tapatalk
