After taking my son to the range with a smaller bow, it became apparent he was ready for an upgrade. After some research, we decided on an all black 2018 PSE Mini Burner. The bow arrived yesterday and here are my initial impressions: - Fit and finish are quite nice. Split limbs are flat black with red/white lettering and riser is gloss black with small rubber inserts on the grip. - Bow is quite adjustable, 16"-26" DL and 14lb-40lb DW. Factory preset was 25"@40lb. - The Ready to Shoot accessories (rest, sight, stabilizer, wrist sling, quiver and arrows) are pretty low-end, all plastic parts. They should work to get started, but basic upgrades will likely be necessary. - Double cam system with yokes. Both cams leaned to the left, but quick yoke adjustments fixed that. - Cams provide a "performance" setting and a "grow with you" setting....basically, slightly adjusts the string routing so a higher draw weight can be had when set to "performance". - DL adjustment is crazy simple with only a single, provided allen key. - DW adjustment was tough. Seemed lock-tite or something similar was on the limb bolts, and I actually had to utilize an allen key longer than the one provided to generate enough torque. Once broken free, both bolts turned smoothly. - Draw cycle is pretty darn smooth, especially when cams are set to "grow with you". - I shot 3 arrows at the factory presets and function was proper. - My big complaint (though not huge), the quiver brackets for the riser and the actual quiver were installed upside down......had to remove and correct for proper usage. All and all, this appears to be a well built bow that should grow with my son for several years. For reference, he's 8 yrs old and by my best calculation, has a 19" DL. I've set the bow to roughly 20lb DW and we'll be hitting the range this weekend. Still need to install a peep, and decide how to convince him a D-loop is the way to go (he feels like an old thumb-trigger release is the way to go, and wants an eliminator button....damn kids). After shooting for a bit, I'll try to provide some updates. Joe
