Of course, this forum wouldnt be anything without pics. It'll be about 2-3 weeks though since its getting shipped overseas and all the parts arriving separately.
I don't see the problem. You like the Matthews; buy the Matthews. My archery guy told me as story yesterday about a buyer that came into his shop trying to convince himself to switch to a Matthews. Seems the guy had a Matthews and then went to PSE. He like the new Matthews but wanted my friend to convince him. So the question was " did you hunt with the Matthews" "yes". "Did you kill a deer?" "Yes" "So what was the question again???" RC
Well I loved the Matthews at the first store. But when I went to the other store, it didnt seem like the other bows felt much different than the matthews. I don't know if the bows were just tuned funny or what, but most of them felt the same on the draw, the only differences I could feel was the jumping in the hand.
I called up every single shop in Oregon for the new G5 Prime bows, I figured if I can avoid the sales tax and get 10% discount, it wouldn't be a half bad deal. Too bad none of the stores carry them anymore = \ I don't know what is up with the Oregon Stores.
when I bought my ZXT I went in expecting to like and get the Spyder 30. but I shot the Bowtech Experience, Spyder 30, Creed, ZXT, HeliM, Chill, Mission Ballistic. and I held a lot of other stuff. PSE, Bear, and some others. If I didnt like the grip I didnt even shoot it. I liked most but the ZXT was the one for me in the end. What I'm trying to say is, let the bow pick you and then if it's within your price range get it, don't settle for a bow that doesnt feel as good for you just because of a couple hundred bucks. Ive heard some great things about Prime but they've gained so much popularity so quickly they're having a hard time fulfilling all the requests to try their bows. Some places just don't have a dealer and the mail order thing is really really slow. I know you can have about any bow redipped, tho you'd want to check with the manufacturer as it will void some warranties I know. for example someone I know had a CarbonElement dipped and checked with hoyt first and they said it would void the warrantee.
Bringing up an old thread since I had a change of mind. Contacted PSE today to put in my order, 6-8 weeks to receive the bow! Im guessing by how everyone's been waiting it'll probably be 3 months. So now im pretty set on getting a Prime Defy bow because I don't feel like waiting that long, the hard part is finding a dealer that will ship it here for a reasonable price, or finding one used on AT. There was a great one I saw that I knew I should have hopped on, but it was grabbed up in a matter of hours. So now im just clicking refresh every minute hoping something pops up in Prime Defy Optifade 27".
