I only went to the shop yesterday. Im in town for a wedding so I have to do allll those things before heading back to the bow shop to look and try out the bows which is about 30 minutes away = \ Kind of a bummer. What also sucks is that im in california, taxes are 10%, if I were back home in Oregon taxes would be 0%. Im half tempted to try out these bows and then order it through a shop in oregon but I dont think that would be real nice.

It would be 10% cheaper though. lol Let us know what you decide. They all seem like pretty good bows.

No transferable warranty and yea, I was hell bent on buying new. But it seems from what i've seen, that people on AT with good reviews haven't been screwing people over. I wouldnt doubt that I become the 1/10 that does get screwed though = ) Still undecided, it would save me about $500-$600 with the risk that something could come broken. Also since it is 2011 model, resaleability down the line would be limited, atleast at a reasonable price.

I can tell you haven't been into archery long. Didn't you say this was your first? You won't care much about looks when is sucks shooting it.

As for the DNA I haven't done a written review in it yet. I haven't decided if I can be unbiased enough in the review so I'll give my honest opinion then write a review later. I would rather throw that bow in a lake that to shoot it. It was awful. Now that I have that of my chest, I'll go back out and shoot it again and do a full blown review.

The shop is local to you in Oregon isn't it? Buy from Oregon and save your money.

Yup, Havent been in it long, just been grabbing some traditional bows lying around and shooting it. Definitely understand about looks over functionality and i agree with the DNA, it just wasn't pleasant at all on the draw.

Yeah..the 70% let off was kinda stupid IMO. Not sure why they made a new bow only 70%. If you don't like it...then I would not get it. Like I said...I have only shot one a few times. I did fall in love with the Hammer.

I also was shooting the same bow for 15yrs. Mathews MQ1 everything has been updated
and If I ever get the cash again soon I possibly might buy a Creed or Monster, I still liked them.

Wedding is finally over, and left the casino with only $20 loss so not too bad off. Havent tested out the prime that im thinking about, but does anyone have any experience with aftermarket bow paint dipping? I see someone doing $100+ shipping both ways to dip bows, im wondering if there are any pros or cons to that?

Well went to a different bow shop today. Wow the customer service was way different, it was way better. I ended up shooting the PSE DNA, Prime Defy, and Prime Shift. The two biggest things I came up with, were
    1) PSE DNA greatly discounted buy, I can also pay to have the bow dipped (which would negate the cost savings)
    2) Prime Defy and Shift when shot, did not have the "Hand Shock" or move around in my hand

I don't know why the PSE DNA was so difficult in the other shop, it must have been the way it was tuned, im pretty sure it was same draw and weight. But this time it pulled back smooth, in fact all three bows pulled back real smooth. Through all this, im still undecided.

The inconsistency of the two DNA's would make me question notated what other companies bows you were looking at. If two new bows were that much different who's to say there won't be tuning issues? That's just me thinking out loud on the topic.

The tuning issue could be a factor, but I don't believe that if there is an issue, PSE wouldn't do something about it to make things right.

Still wishy washy, but i talked with my wife. With the huge discount im getting through PSE, and Spott Hogg, I think it is worth the risk to buy a bow that I may possibly be slightly annoyed with. I figure I can use it for a whole year or two, and if I don't like it, I could most likely sell the bow and accessories and break even or only lose ~$100.

90% sure I will be going with the PSE DNA, I only wish it came in Optifade pattern and it had a slightly larger valley. But I figure the small valley is an acquired taste. I mean im sure native americans only had the choice of one bow, their bow. If they were to try a different bow, they probably wouldn't like it since that one bow was the one they grew up with and knew how to handle.

Im also cheaping out a little bit, I honestly gambled (I honestly mean gambling with options) a significant amount of money on the stock market and lost big. As a backlash im not willing to spend as much on a bow. If anything, Ill sell this bow later on and buy the Prime that I liked so much, or if I like the DNA, Ill get it dipped in the color I want and break even on the price of the bow. Those are my thoughts right now.

Pretty sure 99% im going with PSE DNA even though my mind is telling me to buy a Prime bow. For any of you still reading, you'll be able to say "I told you so".

Thanks everyone for their support and especially PSE and Spott Hogg for their tremendous support for the military. Even on the ride home so many civilians were so nice to me. Thanks everyone.
