But in all seriousness nice work on the school work. It is good to see you are turning a bad situation into something positive.
Nerd... Good job, I too hated school. Barely made it through high school, but now I have a 3.9GPA. I am getting burned out though with only 5 courses until I finish my Major/Minor, I'm struggling to finish the degree. I hate math, took Stats, business finance, two accounting courses reaffirming my hatred for math related topics. Somehow I managed A's in all of them.
Congrats on the GPA!! Dang, sounds like a few more semesters and you're there!! Do you go full time or part time?
Full time online, sounds easy enough, but I am writing two single page (single spaced) papers per week responding to discussion boards, plus at least 6 half page responses to other classmates. On top of that, a project every two weeks really takes it out of you. Online courses have advantages, but they are pretty dang tough at times, especially the database, stats, finance courses that require some immediate input from an instructor. I took the summer off thinking it would get my mind right, but I am dreading the start of my next courses. I am only taking 6-9 credits per semester to lighten the load, hopefully, I stay motivated and will finish by the end of the spring semester 18. Had I not taken the summer off, I would be starting my final courses and graduating this year. I finished an associate degree in computer science last year, I am pretty proud of it. Never thought I'd hold a degree. My B.S. is Business admin minoring in federal contracting, the associates allowed me to take some database courses that did not fit under an additional minor for a B.S. If I could do it all over again, I would have chosen an I.T. type degree rather than business. What I have learned is useful for what I do now, but I really want to get into database development and management. Another one of things I never thought I'd say, I avoided computers as much as possible, but now I see the $$$ in the supply chain, logistics, and database management. There were a butt-load of math courses that scared me away from I.T. I really want to pursue a masters degree, but need to evaluate what path I really want to head. My company has a bunch of free courses and certification prep, I may get them to pay for those before I get into a masters program. I got a B in an upper-level history course I took early, my writing and research skills were not up to par to what was required of the course. When I saw a 20-page final paper, I panicked, yet the paper was not where I lost the most points. The intense weekly discussions really exhausted my brain, plus the annotated bibliography, which I had never heard of before, put me through the ringer. I hate school, but have enjoyed a lot of it, if that makes sense.
A psych guy???? Maybe you could get a couple of guys from on here to "check out" that would keep your A+ status going!
Final semester of community college wrapping up. Starting at the University of Rhode Island in the fall! I was inducted into Psi-Beta this past Friday.(no, it’s not a fraternity!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
