Well guys my old roommate from college has been on three tours overseas. Twice to Iraq and once to Kosovo. While in Kosovo, Bowtech offered deals to the soldiers to buy their new Guardians for a discounted price. My roommate has never hunted in his life but thought that if he got the hardware he might give it a shot. Well he finally got sent home in March and came up to see me over the weekend. He brought his new Guardian and asked me for help getting it tuned up and sighted in. I pulled my Hoyt out and was shooting the target to give him an idea of what to do. He nocks his first arrow and clips on his release and pulls half way back and accidentally hits the release. The arrow shoots through my Walnut tree and luckily got knocked down before it traveled over the hill and hit the neighbors house. He has a befuddled look on his face and says, "Well, screw this, you can have it!" I told him to give it a chance but he was convinced he wasn't interested. I told him to take his bow with him as he was staying at another mutual buddies house and when I woke up Sunday morning the bow was inside my front door. I called him and he reiterated that it's mine. So I'm a proud new owner to a new Bowtech Guardian. We have the same draw length of 31 so it works out great!
I offered and he declined. He said it was my housewarming gift since me and the lady just bought a new home.
obviously a true friend!!! you should at least snag a nice case of good beer for him... not miller or bud, but something like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or somethin....
Congrats on the nice score!! Hopefully you can still change your buddy's mind though. Hate to think that one lousy shot into the the trees will keep him from a great sport! If that was the case with everyone Caleb would have been done just after arriving to the Fergus Friday Night Bonfire this year!
Yep, thats a good score! I wouldn't let him off so easily, I'd make him give it a go a few more times, he'll come around!
SevenMag-Sierra Nevada is top of the list of disgusting beer. Sorry! I love beer but I couldn't stomach that stuff. He's a Sam Adams man anyways. Yeah guys, you would just have to know him. He is a true friend. He has never been a hunter and I think he just thought it was something to spend money on in all honesty. He just reenlisted to go full time ARMY and said he wouldn't have time to hunt now anyway. Here is him and I below: I'm on the right.
