One of my favorite things about this trip is what Justin did to get his tag. I have bought all of his tags in the past but most of the time they are around $25 because he is a kid. I do make him help on our lease though for them. Iowa does not work the same way as other states in the Midwest and only gives a small discount for non resident youth hunters. With the tag and points he paid around $550 and I told him if he wants to hunt Iowa he has to pay that himself. So he mowed lawns and picked rocks to earn money and saved some every month to pay for his own tag.
The hard work to pay for the tag builds character that will stay with him forever. I'm sure the memories of this hunt will too!
