In 5 pages of posts, did we ever suggest a suppressor??? That just struck me now haha!

That would make the gun too heavy for him risking injury to his delicate wrists

Too logical, plus up here supressors are still illegal, along with basically anything that isnt a water gun

A gun does not help if you are afraid of the dark.

This is the first question I would ask. What type of situations could one run into where you live?

My thought exactly! If you are worried about self defense, who gives a crap about noise!

Yes I suggested a 300 black out with barrel that has the suppressor built in

Sorry for butting in but probably the girlish loud high pitched screams you would be putting out would scare off anything for miles. One blast from a pistol isn't going to render you deaf unless you are sticking it in your ear.

Well, it seems as though he found the silent weapon he was after. A huge pink club.

This bear was four blocks from my house. In the park. Next to the playground.

No safe spaces in rural Utah. ;)[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Did they try the trampoline method of breaking the bears fall?

I think we lost this guy about 3 pages back so really doesn't matter much now.

To me the question is pretty simple.... deaf or death. I know what I'd pick even if my self defense weapon was a 105 howitzer.

Unfortunately, I had to use a pistol for defense once.
If you are ever in that situation, you will likely not hear the shot, or even feel the recoil. I didn't, and I know the shot was fired. (the gun was a Llama .45 auto)

If you shoot a bear with a handgun, even a .44 Magnum, unless you hit it in the eye for a brain shot, all your going to accomplish is to make that bear even angrier than it was before you shot it.

    Did I kill the Llama?
No ... That was the brand of my pistol.
The dud who shot at me ... let's just say that was his last mistake.

(The D.A. ruled I acted in self defense.)

When I saw I had an alert, and it was from this thread....and before opening it, I instantly hoped Tiggy had came to manage it.

If he was managing it you’d have a billion alerts!
