Seems like each year I notice a little bit of rust from day one to season close on a few of my broadheads. I was wondering if a quick spray of dry lubricant non-stick would be a decent idea before the season starts off. I already have the lub so, no cost involved. Any downside to the idea?

I wouldn’t do that strong scent left behind, shoot stainless heads if your worried about a lil rust, my non SS slick tricks get a lil surface rust, They clean right off when you send it through a deer.

I agree it wouldn't hurt. I've use what ever i have around. Its ranged from used motor oil, WD40, 3 in 1 oil, to the last week I had a can of triflow, and used that.

Dab it with some vegetable or olive oil and wipe off the excess with a paper towel.

Winner. Its natural and it works. I also carry some vegetable oil for a quick fix on any squeaks on stands or gear.

Also, just from oxidation and vibration in the quiver, the blades will get dull. I sharpen them at least once every mid-season. If they are not shaving sharp, they aren't ready to hunt with in my opinion.

The best rust preventative I've ever used is Barricade. It dries and just leaves a protectant film behind. It does have some odor when applying, but not too bad after it dries.
For lower smell though, I bet a light coating of string wax would help shed water off the rustable parts of a BH.
