I was wondering if anyone had knew a way to protect deer antlers from the outdoor elements. I want to hang some antlers on my garage, but would like to protect them from fading and deteriorating in the weather.

My mom has been hanging sheds she finds on the outside wall of the wood shed for fifteen years or so. Besides some sun bleaching and provided mice or squirrels don't get to them they don't seem to deteriorate much.

I would ask your taxidermist. I think some type of clear coat should do the job. I've seen many sets of antlers hanging on barns and sheds that have been there for years and they seem to hold up well.
