pros cons of WRP

    found just over 100 acres for sale, it is WRP, has plenty of trees near food sources and obviously water.

    have never owned or hunted any WRP.
    Anyone have insight? the price is LOW for this part of nebraska which makes me think twice.

    You'll have to see the contract to know what's specifically in it for that property as they can vary from one to another by quite a lot. I used to develop a lot of the marshes on those contracts. Basically your name is on the deed but the government owns it. You can hunt it and even plant some food plots but you're very limited on how much of each field you can plant, like 5% depending on how the farm is mapped.

    The linked article is good. They can be good under the right circumstances, like a purely recreational hunting property. I'd never sign one of my farms over into one though. I'd consider it for a wetland project on a portion of a farm maybe. I don't believe in signing anything up in a long term or perpetual lease.
