We have 3 new laws being proposed Senate Bill 191-Implements a one gun a month limit for purchases. House Bill 239- Require all firearms be registered with the state police House Bill 518- repeal our castle doctrine law Although not as drastic as an all out ban, we can't have any of these pass.
Yeah Im not a fan of that...sure, it could be worse like our brothers and sisters to the north (NY, not Canada), but I still dont like it. I dont see the point of tax money going to something thats not going to change a thing when it comes to crime. Its just a control thing and Im tired of our government trying to control "free" people.
None of those do anything except make the legal citizen register his firearms so they know where to go when they decide to confiscate. None of these proposed laws do anything to prevent a whacko from going on a shooting spree.
Absolutely. People need to contact their local reps and let them know what you think regardless of how little perceived "importance" these new laws seem to some. The repealing of the castle doctrine is especially odd to me. I would like someone to explain the logic or justification for that.

All terrible laws, and that is coming from a law enforcement officer. 95% of my fellow leo's would agree those laws stink.
It's stupid. when I was 12 my Dad brought myself and my older brother into a store and bought both of us new rifles for deer hunting...that was a great day...under this law that would be illegal
More and more law abiding citizen control laws proposed every day. When will they decide it's time to control the criminals running rampant in our society?
glad I live where I do Oklahoma passed a law that will make it a felony for a federal officer to try to impose any federal gun ban law in Oklahoma. it doesn't have any teeth but at least they are taking a stand against stupidity that's spreading in our country

Haha, its not like someone needs multiple guns to shoot up a place. You just need one with some clips. As for registering with the local police, it would be a hassle but nothing too serious. And again, what would that accomplish? I don't think registering your gun will stop school shootings, if the bushmaster was in fact used at all in the recent one.
