Our deer herd. Why on earth would we need a new modern firearm season just before the rut? And allowing the sale of wild venison, really? Not to mention "liberalizing" the crop damage permit process and allowing more people to kill deer with a firearm year round.
While I don't agree with opening up firearms just before the rut, MD definitely does not have a suffering deer population, in terms of numbers. At least not in the urban archery zone I hunt in where we have unlimited anterless. Personally I think having good schools, good hospitals, clean air and water, and well maintained roads are more important for a state than a good deer herd. I mean if you want to experience a "cess pool", go visit one of those non-liberal states that invests nothing in infratructure or their children's futures.
