I like this method of tying in a peep sight: Pa Bucks Peep Sight Tutorial

However, every bow shop I've ever been to, always just ties square knots above and below the peep, regardless of whether it is a tube or tubeless. The last pro shop I went to even asked me who in the hell tied my peep sight the last time (I did), 'cause they thought it was overkill.

After I tied it, the peep sight didn't move for at least the last six months. It's moved after they tied their square knots in less than a month.

    Any opinions?

I've done both. With the 2 square knots a dab of super glue on each knot will keep them in place.

Serve above and below, and tie the peep in itself with a separate string. Never had one move on me.

I do mine similar to Greg but I use a single strand of serving. This is what's described in the link.

X2. This is how I do mine, and they hold fine.

Big stick I'm with you I tie mine in the same way. I've had peeps move on me with the other method although if you have to move the peep its easier with just the serving above and below.

Here's a way that I do the tubelesss peeps.Works well, doesn't move and for me doesn't affect peep rotation as much as tying above and below the peep on some strings. For the ones with tubes I serve above and below as shown.

I'll bet this will stay tied but it looks like it has a ton of stuff just hanging off from the knots.

Wow, the guy in that Specialty Archery link is definitely a graduate of the "More is Better School of Knot Tying"! I hate doing gear work on boats after one of these guys has been around. Overhand knots are way overused and misused and contrary to popular belief, more is NOT better.

Yeah he definately likes the overhand knots. I don't use the over hands like he does on both sides of the seperated string. I go one overhand and then the half hitches on each side of the peep. Then an overhand and melt the tags. Look good with no stuff hanging.

Wow! They go all out at that shop! Dental floss costs like 10x's what a spool of serving thread costs when you figure it in $ per foot.
