Please forgive me if this is quite "newbie" of me, but I really have googled my butt off to try and find a really good guide on doing this, but have had zero luck.

I have a brand new Bow Madness XS and I want to make sure im taking care of it properly. I'm keeping my string waxed up, but im still seeing frays here & there, particularly around the peep sight.

    Perhaps im doing it wrong?

Also, where should I apply lube on my box periodically? Should I lube up certain parts of my Cam? Etc. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

    Thanks!

Im a newb myself, but you might want to reserve the part of the string that's fraying around the peep site.

Wow never heard the terms "Lube on my box" when it comes to archery lol. But I think I know what youre asking. Fraying is a normal part of string deterieration. Youll want to trim away the frayed areas lightly and then reserve if needed. What I like to do before and after every season is season the string..I dont mean like Montreal Steak Season....I mean apply wax to the entire string, hit it with a hair dryer, on low heat should be sufficient. Then as the wax melts, rub the wax INTO the string. Not just on it, but INTO it. This will extend the life of your string. There should be some youtube videos on how to do this if youve never done it before but its pretty self explanitory. Also with todays high speed bows and newer string materials, I use wax with graphite in it.

    Squeek when drawing back???

My bow has picked up a small squeek when I draw back? I'm not sure if it's in the cams, the string or just rubbing somewhere. It's not super loud but i'd hate for it to be the difference maker! I have a hoyt cyber tec xt.

Is there somewhere to lube up? Has anyone else had an issue similar to this?

What peep sight are you using? The older red eye peeps were tearing strings up in the past, I had one and it tore my string like you are saying. If it is a red eye, I was told you could call the company and they would pay for a new string.

LMAO! Just realized I typed box instead of bow...wow. Lub in my box, thats...priceless :tu:

Anyways, thanks to everyone for your replies.

Someone above asked about a squeek on the draw...I actually just ran into this with my bow, and I took to to the place I bough tit at and after a lot of trial and error, we found out it was the string separator thing that is on the cable slide that was causing it.

It had a slight vibration in the handle, and what I can only describe as a creeking noise when I drew back.

$7.00 later, its totally gone =)
