Started taking my daughter when she was 4,....but I took her squirell hunting first, it was warmer, I made it a game of who finds the most,..she always won of course. To teach her the importance of the orange vest, I once hung an old hunting hat on a post along the back of a field we were going to hunt and waited as we walked across the field for her to see it,...I will never forget her saying "dad dad" we cant go that way, there is someone over there",....she reminded me all day that someone was sitting near our land,...lol At 28 now, she still hunts with her hubby and now my grand daughter is 6 and loves the woods too,...
So I say have at it,...bring crayons, drinks, snacks blanket and an extra pair of binocs,....oh the memories!!!

I took my little girl yesterday afternoon. We loaded up her BB gun and and off we went to the ground blind. We saw 0 deer but it was a great afternoon. She just turned 7. P.S be prepared to answer alot of questions while sitting there. LOL
My favorite quote from her was "I don't see any deer, all I see is a bunch of corn"

One more thing. We only sat for maybe 1 hour. When she was ready to go we left. Just remember its not about killing something.

I just remembered this.. She wanted to use the "deer call" (grunt call) so of course I let her. LOL. I will probably never see a deer from that ground blind ever again.

Started with my oldest at probably 2 or so...he loved using the range finder. He's hunted with me several times a year since then....7 now. Youngest went on his first hunt weekend before last, he's 3 and had been driving me crazy to go.

Here's some captured focus time

Couldnt wait to get big enough to tag along with my old man. He took me at the age of five, usually in a groundblind. Started hunting with him in the same tree as me at 8 and solo at 9. Cant wait to mine to be old enough to tag along.

My dad took me bow hunting for deer with him when I was 3 years old. I even got to watch him shoot a deer! Talk about getting hooked line and sinker!

I took my daughter deer hunting with me in a ground blind when she was 4 years old. She loved it! Last year at 6 years old I took her bow hunting with me bear hunting. That was even better even though we didn't see no bear. You know you're kid best. Take them with when you think the time is right. Have fun pops! Its an awesome feeling!!
