Propane usage, normal or not? Help!

    When it's below 30 outside, it's 80 in my house....I love my wood stove...

    The coldest I will have it in our home otherwise is 68 ....

    I guess it's all what you get used to. We kept it at 64 until the baby came and now we keep it at 67-68. Throw on some sweats and good to go.

    To the original poster it sounds like something is wrong. On a cold month our natural gas bill is $80 which heats our home, water and cooks out food.

    Tony the windows are original, and the ones that face West can be a bitt drafty on real windy days.

    Hoyt is a great name. A masculine name. A tough name. It would be great for a pup!

    Well, I'm gonna start outside and have Nu-Gas check my tank for leaks tomorrow. After that we'll move inside.

    If everything checks out and you don't have any leaks. I would suggest getting some plastic on the windows. Either outside or they have heat shrink plastic the goes on the inside. This will give you another layer of insulation and keep out any drafts. You can also put a towel or something in front of the doors to keep any drafts from coming in around the doors.
