I grew up in Ar and we lived in 2 different houses that completely relied on the wood fireplace for heat. We also had a 150g propane tank at each house for appliances. Growing up i spent my summers and all weekends cutting wood. At the first house we had to drive into the woods, find trees to cut down and cut up, then haul the wood out and then split it. At the 2nd house the "pastures" were like a very thin forrest so we had a timber company come in and clear cut it so we had actual pasture land for our horses. So cutting wood at that house was a little easier because we would just start on a pile and work our way through it. It was a year round job. We probably burned 3-4 cords of wood a winter. It's not easy. you always have a mess in the house and you have a lot of bugs in your house. We used box fans to force air down hallways to keep the house warm and circulate air. But i loved it. loved the smell of the fireplace, the crackle and everything. wish i still had a fireplace but am thankful for my heat pump lol.

My suppliers was at $5.50 last week and as of yesterday morning they were $4.45- they are slowly dropping a little each say now that the Governor declared a propane emergency. I'm going to let my tank ride for probably another week and then I'll have no choice but to order. They are only delivering to customers who have less than 20% in their tank and only 100gal at a time.
