My better half and I were discussing society’s current penchant for not describing a thing or action with a clear and precise name. In the past I know you have probably read me describe a shovel or spade as a “manual excavation implement”. I find it a perfect metaphor for folk’s fear of inflaming some minority’s tender feelings. They beat around the bush and never quite get to the point, all the while looking at you like “You know what I mean?”

You may or may not know what the speaker truly means (particularly if you are listening to a White House Press Secretary) but most listeners are satisfied to merely nod their heads in the affirmative. Then when the speaker finishes, the listener turns to his neighbor and asks for clarification.

All of this renewed discussion on the C.I.A.’s methods of questioning captured terrorists reveals at least three levels of questioning most Americans are familiar with. Here I must say that some of the committed left still do not fully understand the difference between water boarding and the gouging of eyes or extraction of finger nails with pliers (i.e. Torture); however, I think most will agree with me on these general classes.
    1. Merandized questioning with or without a lawyer
    2. Enhanced interrogation, including harsh language, slapping, cold and hot environments, sleep deprivation and my personal favorite…water boarding
    3. Torture i.e. the types of injury to a human that leave physical scars, permanent injury and/or death

I submit we should include all of the above in what should now be referred to as “Progressive Interrogation”.

For my own part I must state that under no circumstances should the playing of Barbara Streisand music be included in any of the proceedings.
Please, just shoot me and get it over with.
I’ve told you everything I know.

Is this PI (progressive interrogation) to be used on just terrorists or on everyday Americans?

Sometimes I feel like they have been using some of those techniques on me already…particularly when I’m watching the evening news.

    I say: Apply as needed.

Who gets to decide the "as needed....." part? Lawmakers via a hierarchy of laws system? A judge? The police? Detectives?

Ironic is that the same military that took out Osama have training technigues that are considered torture by the left but it is ok to train the best military in the world.

Any group that attacks/targets non-combatants to include children does not deserve the protection of the Geneva Convention.
