New to this forum. Like what I've read so far! I recently bought some new arrows to replace the ones that were slowly finding their way into deer! I have an old Hoyt Extreme set at 60+ lbs. with an over-draw setup and WB. Shooting OLD Carbon Gold Tip 5575 arrows cut to 25-26". I've tried my best to find an exact match for the arrows, but couldn't read the writing on them very well. Here's where my problem starts. I bought some Gold Tip XT Hunters in 5575 and had them cut to length and noticed they were fish-tailing / not flying perfect like the old ones. When I put a 100gr. broad head on, they drop about 6-7 inches. I went through the paper test and a guy told me they needed the blazers(plastic) put on them for the WB. Still getting same results. I have noticed marks on the over-draw and on the tips of the blazers. Closely looking down the arrow while in the WB, I can tell clear as day that it's going to hit. My old arrows veins are so flimsy that I guess they just bend so much as to not cause a problem. So.....Shorter veins? Feathers? New bow? I've got to do something because bow season is my absolute favorite season of all!!!! I'm sure someone can relate to that here...

check to see if your blazer veins are possibly contacting your buss cables. I have had this problem before and turnig the cock feather fixed this problem. Also going by the chart and your specs with a 100 grain tip and 25-26" arrows and 60 lbs you are slightly over spined. You can refer to the chart on huntersfriend .com about correct spine for your needs. The incorrect spine may or may not be your problem but it may be in the future.

I think becasue of the length you are over spined, and that will make an arrow fish tail and Mudnation 1 is right, check to see if your making contact with your buss cable. Put some chaulk on a vane and see if you can see any markings on the cable.
