I had my shop fletch (I will be buying a jig soon) 6 new Easton Flatlines a month or so ago. The first day I had one of the red Blazers pop off when it hit the target. Another red one came off shooting through paper. That was the first week. Since then I have had them re-fletch those and 3 more arrows. Now I have 3 more that both black on some and red on others have came off. This is the first set I have had done by a shop. All the others have came factory installed and haven't came off without being hit by other arrows.

Is this normal with arrows not prefletched?? If so, I'll probably be going back with NAP QuickFletch. They are expensive but, held up better than this crap!!

It is not normal. When good glue is used by someone that knows what they are doing then it is actually a pain in the *** to get the fletching off when it needs to be replaced.

No, Stick, that's not normal if the fletching job is done correctly. I fletch my own and that doesn't happen.

LOL Yeah, one of the reasons I use feathers and fletch tape.

like stated above, with the right glue... taking them off is like pulling teeth! I would ask for a free refletch and/or refund

I had an issue with Blazers years ago not sticking well. It turned out that I was fletching in my basement and the humidity there didn't agree with the glue. As soon as I started fletching upstairs, I had no issues.

Blazers can be a bit finicky. They're stiffer, especially the bases, than regular fletching and requires you to be sure that the base is making good contact with the shaft. People trying to put a hard helical on these typically have issues.

I don't use anything special when it comes to glue. I personally use Loc-Tite super glue gel and have never had a single issue.

I was pretty sure it wasn't normal. I was looking at them earlier and the bases aren't even completely pushed flat on the shaft. The edges of the channel on the base are the only things in contact. Not the middle at all. He uses Bitz jigs but they are older. He uses a razor blade to scape the glue off the jigs which I was thinking it couldn't be too easy on the base of the jig itself. Seams like he may have a good amount of wear in as short as a months time even due to the amount of arrows he fletches. I feel sure after years of scraping them it would have an adverse effect on the installs of the Blazers.

as others have already said, about the only time I have an issue with that is when I have a tube of old glue. that being said, I have seen countless fletchings missing by others at tournaments when our local bowshop made up their arrows. he seems to think that dipping the arrow and applying about 4 drops of glue are fine!!!!!!

I am fletching Blazers with a full right helical, I use Gorilla super glue. They DO NOT come loose unless you shoot them off. You are paying someone to do a job they don't know how to do. Get a jig, do it yourself and you do it right.

I have used AAE Fastset gel with blazers and a bitz for years... Don't remember ever having a vane fly off... Most likely an adhesive\glue issue... I do also like to put a very small dab of glue on the very tip of where the vane touches the shaft - not sure if it helps, but makes me feel good....
