Well first sit of the year and she was around my stand in range for 15 minutes or more last night, as she has gained weight the wire has gotten tighter. The wire does not prevent her from eating so it isn't that tight but the difference is noticeable she is not suffering so it isn't a high priority mercy kill, yet.
Tight enough where the wire will not come off. She has been running around with wire since a year ago last March. I do not see her very often. I was going to shoot her last fall but she never gave me a shot she is a really smart doe.
You can't draw on her before she gets in range, she never goes first, she goes thru the plot and circles depending on the wind direction. She taunted me last fall to the point I thought of buying a gun tag.
I had a old nanny cross a ditch and look 100 yards directly at me in a stand( permanent and has had same location for years). She walked in to about 35 yards then, looking at me the entire time, turned around and left. I swear nannies are just as smart as old bucks
Old fishing net? Could you figure out what it was or where it came from? Some kind of food bag... Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Man, I was just thinking about this deer last week, I was gonna ask about her but I figured she was dead or something. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Nope it is weird no idea where it came from. My wife's nephew took her I gave him permission to hunt with the emphasis of shooting her. I am not judging. He took a shot I would not. She came in last as usual and was tweaking when he drew and she spun when he released he went in by the shoulder but came out back in the guts. I have shot an alert doe before and with the neighbor concerns I would not do it because of the potential result. The deer did go over the property line, my wife called the neighbor and explained that the wire doe was taken and he was ok with the recovery.
