....and it's not mine. I was fortunate enough to take a nice doe on Saturday morning before work in the little honey hole behind my house. Then this afternoon, I invited my buddy to come over and hunt with me so we could see if we could get him on some deer. I pointed him to a tree, he climbed up, and we were settled in a little before 5pm. He has absolutely hunted his ass off so far this year and hadn't even had a sighting. So I was praying that he atleast saw something, or even better, got a shot. You all know what I'm talking about, you take someone in your area and you want them to atleast see deer so you don't look like a fool :D Around 5:45 I was just sitting there trying not to freeze to death or get blown out of my tree and I heard a branch break in the direction his stand was at. I put my binoculars up on him, just in time to see him draw his bow, release, and thhhhhwack. I saw the deer running right at me, and I could tell he was hurt as he darted by. Perfect double lung shot on a 5yd broadside buck. I was probably more excited watching a good friend take a deer that I set him up on. I climbed down and walked over to his tree as he was climbing down and said..."Well that will be $100 for a guide fee," with a big smile on my face. He just kept thanking me. Definately a memory that I will remember forever.
Congrats, Matt. That's something I've always wanted to do (put someone on a deer on my property). I bet he's very grateful.
that was the first thing i noticed but i got caught up in the story....nice job on getting a friend out there. when i owned my own property i did that all the time and really loved the feeling when they had a good time. congrats on your doe too, she's perty
