How do guys get a chance to become part of a pro staff like Bowhunting.com, Mossy Oak, or Realtree?

I think that a lot has to do with who you know. You certainly need to be accomplished, but you also have to have the personality that a company wants representing them. Then again, I'm not on any pro staff, so I'm sure you can get more info from those on here that are.

Matt hit the nail on the head. It really is more of a "who do you know" thing. You do have to be accomplished though.

yep, a lot of big bucks. but not only that, you really have to market yourself and basically live, eat, sleep, and breathe whitetail hunting and all that entails.

Just whitetail? Nah, there has got to be more to it than that.....

Set goals...establish a game plan (e.g. use a particular piece of equipment). Devise a method to measure your success. Execute the plan-many times. Sell/give away the results.

If you're "that good", your product (you) will turn heads.

If you're not that good, kiss some arse and make it sound like you know what you're talking about.

I can't really speak for anyone buy myself, but here is what I know... First of all, there is always someone watching what you're doing and what you're saying. Your attitude is extremely important... There is an opportunity in pretty much every thread to belittle someone or to help someone, what you do will be seen.

Because so much "work" for staff members is done online, it's important that they be able to communicate their thoughts well through a keyboard. A product review is no good if the buyers (reader) can understand what it means.

Lilweightlifter, your original question was how do you get the chance? Don't be afraid to make contact with a company. Send them an email, tell them about yourself, send them pictures of you using their product...

It's definitely NOT all about killing big deer every year... Or me, Jon, and Dan would be ridin' the pine. :D

Haha! Thanks for the advice, Dubbya. I'll keep that all of that in mind. I know I am always trying to learn more where I can and always try to provide the information I know tpo others that need it. It's a great circle to be a part of. :)
