While this will keep me from buying any more primos products, I won't be throwing the ones I have away. If your itching to toss yours, I'll pay for shipping. :-) kinda ****ty., but there's always two sides.

Is the lawsuit looking for monetary damages, or simply asking them to change the name? A lawsuit does not require that the suing entity ask for money, or to shut down the defendant. Trademarks and patents are going a bit far, but reading the name of that organization, I would immediately assume it was related to the Primos company. There is validity to a Primos suit, especially if it is only asking them to change their name. Would you be as up in arms if it was a non-profit private investigation firm with the same name, or are you upset because it's church-based and assists people with special needs?

As for information, just reading the defendant's version usually doesn't tell the whole story, or even some of the story. That piece you quoted from Hunting the Truth doesn't say anything about the case, it just reads as an essay to tug at your heart strings.

As others have said, there's two sides to a story, no matter how defenseless and undeserving one side may appear to be.

Pretty much what I was going to post verbatim. I highly doubt they're suing for money, but more of an infringement of their trademark using "the Truth" in a hunting related manner. Primos has likely spent tens of thousands of dollars, if not millions, to build and protect their brand over the past several decades. Everyone in the hunting world knows that when you hear "The Truth", you think Primos. Having another entity out there using that name, non-profit or otherwise, infriges on those rights.

Does it suck that it happens to be this type of organization? Of course it does. But the law is the law. Primos isn't responsible for making the laws, and shouldn't be held liable for the enforcement of them.

You guys act like they're going in there with guns, taking everything they have and burning their building down when most likely they're just being told they have to change the name of their organization.

I don't support Primos either way in this fight, I just hate to see everyone get riled up before they really even know what's going on. But hey, its the Internet - that's what we do best! So get your torches and pitchforks out guys, it's time to raid!

X2 on what Justin has said. It's pathetic if they sue for money, but I see nothing wrong with wanting them to change their name.

If Primos wants to handle this the right way for PR, they should insist on a name change then turn around and donate several hunts to the organization. Support the cause once the cause quits piggy backing on your name.

Wow. That's pathetic on so many levels. Apparently it's not enough that they're absolutely gouging the consumer on their overpriced plastic toys. Now, they feel compelled to take from the disabled.

The guys on here that know me - they know that I can easily boycott a company for the rest of my life. Hoyt/Easton jacked me around one time about 15 years ago, and I have never given them a single dollar since. Same with Vital Bow Gear. Hell would freeze over before I'd ever fire another Hoyt bow, Easton arrow or use a VBG product. I guess we can add Primos to the list...

Two additional points: From a legal perspective, Primos is out of its mind. The word "Truth" will never be viewed by the courts as being proprietary under these circumstances. It's just too common a word to have the expectation of exclusivity. Think about how many companies use the word "American" in their name. Words like that just aren't proprietary. Add to the fact that the charity organization isn't selling bows, so the argument that they're "Piggybacking" is a real reach. I hope they piss away tens of thousands in legal fees and lose their ass.

Secondly, no matter how they try to spin it once this spirals out of control (i.e. a settlement proposal like Justin mentioned) - the damage is done. When you file that Complaint, your true colors are revealed. Y'all can do what you want, but I'll never buy another Primos product. Things like this nauseate me.

While I agree that leagally the Primos boys may have a course, I think it's a pretty rediculous suit money or not. Especially since "the Truth" has been used for centuries in the context that the non-prof is using it.

It'll be interesting to see how this all pans out.

X3. I am waiting to hear a reply from Primos before I make a sound judgement. I have met some of the Primos' guys and they are a good group. Name infringements happen all the time. Savage was sued last year for naming a gun the "Edge", already been used.

The only real TRUTH comes from God. His Word and His son, Jesus Christ- the way, the TRUTH, and the light. Maybe God should sue Primos for infringing on HIS rights. I believe that Jesus said it and it has been written in the Bible far longer than Primos has been using it. Just sayin

X2 on what Justin said , two sides and things can easily be blown out of proportion and pull at heart strings . I fully intend to carry on using my Primos goods and using them in the future , as there items work great and are some of the best vids out there . Wait till more of the story comes out before judging and condemning people and companies you used to trust .

Curious to see if this decision by them comes back to affect them in the way the Netflix was when they announced a price hike shortly followed by a splitting of their mail and streaming services. Whether it's a name infringement suit or a monetary suit, it's still the wrong decision in this circumstance. It will be interesting to see what happens to the company regardless of the outcome.

I am going to play devil's advocate here, before I jump on the bandwagon to ban Primos gear. (Which I am not opposed to if the allegations said are true.) But until I get some real proof and not just facebook posting or links I am going to hold off on the ban at this point.

    Hello Mark,

I am Founder of Your Future Is Now Ministries, which Huntin the Truth Ministries is an outreach of. My twin brother, James, founded our Huntin the Truth Ministries outreach, but ultimately I own HTT because its an outreach of my non-profit. Although I can't talk much about this lawsuit at this point because of the legalities of it, I can answer your question because the lawsuit is public knowledge and can be downloaded from the internet. Primos is suing us for money damages to their company and to discontinue our trademarked logo and ministry name. They are going after everything. Thank you for your support of Huntin the Truth Ministries!

    God Bless,

    Chad Hampton

So , now i can make my final decision with this answer , and it was allready decided when i posted this thread

Word on the street is Primos is suing Webster too...just sayin.'

On a serious note, this is ludicrous. If anything, an organization such as HTT should do nothing but help Primos, right? I mean helping the disabled and youth get out in the great outdoors. Hell, I'd let people think my company WAS involved with such a group.
