I have it along with most other popular calls. It's good I guess, versatile I just realized this year it has the adjustable o- ring to make any deer sound you want. That was a bonus. I don't like it as much as the true talker for a tending buck call but the Tru talker falls apart after half a season. Overall good call though.
Thanks Tribal, I didn't know that it had the adjustable o-ring, I just pulled mine out and that is a really nice feature. It actually makes some very nice doe grunts and bleats!
Wouldn't you think Primos would push that feature or at least advertise it has that even on the package????????? I mean seriously I need to give Will a call and give him some advertising tips if he will hook me up with some land to hunt.
You would think so, that is a great feature and really changes what the call can do. I think tomorrow morning I might have to do a little doe bleating with it to see what I can stir up.
Well I got mine working correctly finally. The reed was goofed up. But it doesn't change the sound at all on mine when I adjust it.
Did I miss something? What did you take off to make different noises?!? This is the same one as you are talking about, right? https://shop.primos.com/pc-889-9-buck-roar.aspx
I bought one lastweek and love it. I love the challenge weeze, and the adjustable reed tones vs the buck growl. Now i have both, the growl and the roar.
I like the Flextone combo too. roars, grunts and has a separate snort-wheeze tube with it but hooked together. Had a small buck come to the grunt last year and our deer are really call shy here. only reason I don't have the Primos is I can't hardly carry all my equipment now. I like the Rubbernecker call, but my favorite is the small one they have, called Hands Free buck and doe, it's not very loud but that's good when they're close! Can shoot with it in you mouth if you don't mind a little drool! LOL! lp
Yea, thats the one, if you grab the bottom part of the call right below the green plastic and pull you will be able to access the reed assembly. The bottom side of the reed has notches cut out for each different sound and you simply slide the o-ring that is around the reed to where the notch is to make that call!
I found it today. But when I go out to the EB, and the one below that, I have to blow really hard, and when I do, it sounds like nothing I have ever heard before, or nothing I would expect to hear from an animal???
