Well I have to right now and they retail for around $100 but I was able to get them both for under $70. For the price they seem to be a great camera with the trigger speed being good and the flash range out to 30-40 feet. They are very easy to operate and battery life is about 2-3 months depends on the amount of pics and the temp outside. Does have a clunk sound when it takes a picture but have not notice it to bother the deer. Pros -Easy setup -Good battery life -Price -Up to 5 pictures at once -Video as well Cons -Uses D batteries -The clunk noise -The overall size of the unit Who else have used this camera and what do you think of it?????
I agree with you on that I just sold one of my cuddeback to get one and will be selling my no-flash this off season. I would say cuddeback has gone down hill and they are not competing very well.
I have one 46 model gets a lot of blurry pics, but gets great video, and is a little bulky in size and is easy for someone to spot in the woods. I hope it dont walk off. It's ir lighting is way to bright and i have spooked a lot of deer with it. I have it in the woods now re-set the ir lighting to it's lower setting hoping to get better results this time. as for the clunk i havent seen any pics of a deer reacting to it yet. battery life is the best of the d-cell cams out there that i have used. Trigger speed is a little slow so you will get alot more pics pointing the cam down a trial or on a bait pile or scrape. The higher you can set the cam up in the tree the better chance of the deer or people from seeing the ir flash
I don't have day pics on photobucket right now, so if you want some of those posted I will do that after work
Not a bad cam for the $$ but as you can see in those pics is the bright ir flash of this cam and the big deer seem to-react to the flash as you will see when you run the cam in 15 sec video mode, I have a 46 and turned the flash down to 25 and is better but i think i am going to daylight pics next season at least in my prime areas. I will say when i tested the cam in my yard my dog loved to get it's pic taken not sure why.
I have a 46 model that I've only used for two weeks. Very good daytime pics and good nighttime pics when used in the burst mode. I really like it but am going to sell it (its the first and only trailcam I've ever owned). I'm saving up the money to buy a Reconyx 500 or possibly try the new black flash Bushnell when its available.
Steve, here is the link: http://www.bowhunting.com/blog/post/Check-out-the-new-improved-Bushnell-Trophy-Cams.aspx
Nice!! Nothing better then no red lights what so ever as far as I'm concerned. This was my reason for going to a Reconyx. I like that Bushnell has added the sound thing to them as well. Might be getting myself one of these camera's too. It would be awesome for bear hunting. Bear make so many different sounds. More then most know. Thanks Coug for the link and good write up John!!
Here are some of my pics and from what I have seen it really depends on the deer if they get scared by the camera, some don't seem to care at all.
or you get this.... my primos 46 cam in action. pics wont show this but video mode will. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6qpx1OclZc or this.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IFtcBNOOP0
All that is that its red and they don't know what it is. I Mature bucks get picture after picture of them and they don't seem to care. Only way around that is a black flash that more cameras are coming out with this year.
Not all deer react to the ir flash but a lot do and i here it from alot of guys running ir cams as i do, a lot of mature bucks change patterns and trails, I have proof on my ground running 8 cams when i switched to short videos on a few of the cams some of the deer really did not like the cams ir flash per videos i have posted ,and i have a lot more videos of the same thing just no time to upload it all. But my guess if company's are coming out with a black flash there is a reason for it.
