Not trying to hijack, I have two friends who use and like their headlocks. Simple, sturdy and reasonably priced. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I appreciate it muzzy. I've seen them listed on Amazon for under $50, and I like the look and simplicity. Given the difference in price, I'll be giving them a serious look before making any final decisions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not sure.. I only looked at black, to match my bow. I think the sherpa line had optifade though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I liked the Head Lock enough to get a second one after finding a good deal on a barely used one on the AT classifieds. Since I do not like a bow quiver, I have one on a homemade mount for easy relocation and the other is strapped to my Game Plan Double Drop hunting pack. The only geninue complaint for some is that the hood is not real genereous in size for a bigger fixed BH. However I shoot Shuttle-Ts and Stingers with no issues. Of course my Spitfires are perfect and thus I am heading into my 4th season (spring turkey) in '17 with the Head Lock.
Well I got the call yesterday my bow was in. Got it all set up last night I just need to get a sight tape put on her and it will be ready for the 3D shoot this weekend. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
How do you like the Sherpa? I have mine on hand but haven't opened the package, I won't install the hardware for the quiver until around September 1st... Plus I still don't Even have the bow in yet.
I actually like it alot. It was a very easy install and the quiver slides on and off nicely. Make sure to use the mounting bracket that will come with the bow and not the one in the quiver package. It's bow specific I guess. I was going to leave it off until hunting season got closer but decided to just put it on now since it doesn't really make much of a difference weight and balance wise. Congrats on your new Prime.....looks great. I had never seen the Sherpa mount system up close, so thanks for the photos. Shoot well.....
So it turns out we have Prime dealer 20 minutes from here. Drove down today and really liked the feel of the Centergy. They didn't have much in LH for the other brands besides Hoyt (they had a leftover Prodigy in left hand as well as a BTX-31). Anyways, the Centergy is $1049 there. I have a lead on a slightly used one for $700 with a new Hamskea rest. I would need new cams, though. The shop told me if I brought it in, they would exchange me cams for $50 including install. The only issue is the bow in question is in First Lite pattern, but I would prefer EV2 or Black (first world problems).
So 20 minutes after I leave for the weekend, my buddy texts me a pic of my bow that just showed up at the shop... Monday can't come fast enough.
My first Rival was purchased used off the AT classifieds for a VERY good price, but it was RTX camo. I finished the 2015 season with it and shot it for a few months, then found a nice black used Rival and sold the RTX. Right after New Years this year, I got the itch for a new Rival as they are now closeouts and the price dropped on brand new ones with the warranty. Yup......ended up with a new RTX camo and really like it this time around. For a $349 savings over a new one, I would personally snag that one and get the cams swapped out. The pattern can grow on you.....just saying.
Picked the Centergy up today. 28.5 inch cams set to 80ish% letoff. 61.4 pounds draw weight, 310 grain target arrows 306 FPS. Axcel Accutouch QAD HDX 10' B-stinger back bar I did have an issue though. There was a burr inside the front stabilizer bushing and it ruined the threads on my stabilizer. My buddy from the shop dropped me off a new stabilizer bushing so that's good to go now. Just need a new post for my front stabilizer. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
My Prime ended up at 279fps with 402 grain arrows, 65# 28"DL Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk
