Just joined the Prime family with a steal of a deal. I hope it's as good the reviews I poured through! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was hoping for that type of deal a couple months ago in January after the Centergy was released on a closeout Rival.....no such luck. That is indeed a STEAL....likely due to being a couple years old and LH. A buddy of mine kept hearing me talk up Prime bows and eventually bought his first of several....a camo Alloy. Great bow that he regrets having sold. If I recall, that bow comes stock with PCX cams and I would talk to the dealer about swapping for PCXL's if you need a DL change. That made a WORLD of difference in the Impact for me....making it a "hybrid" of sorts with the PCXL cams with more valley and letoff. Even if it costs you a few bucks, most feel it is worth it......I surely did.
Is there a major difference in the feel of the draw cycle between the PCX and PCXL cams (aside from the let-off adjustability and related DL issues)? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am new to the Prime following. I have hushpuks galore on my Rise. I had the Halon32 and its a great bow but I just felt like I was fighting the bow to keep it from torquing. Probably just me. I didn't have that problem with the HTR or Chill X. The Prime was a completely different story. It settled right in and was solid. It has a great valley and decent specs. I think its gonna be a killer!!
Not in the draw cycle, but at full draw there is a significant difference. I owned two Impacts with PCX cams and shot both of them extensively, but returned to my trusty Centroid to hunt for the relaxed valley. Once they offered the PCXL cams on the Ion and Rival, I bought a set and never went back to the PCX. The issue of DL is relatively the same, as it is based on where you set your draw stops on the cams.
How have the hushpuks worked for you? I've heard really great things about them, but haven't tried them. I put Limbsavers on my limbs and it helped a tiny bit, but not as much as I expected. Every bow I ever put them on it killed all vibe. The Prime's with the 82X risers are a different animal I'm finding.
I have not shot the Rize with the 82X aluminum, but have read many comments about the different sound and feel. A good buddy of mine has owned two Alloys, an Ion and now has a Rize. He has played with it quite a bit and likes it a lot, so keep messing around until you hit the "sweet spot" of tuning.
i also heard that if you build up the yokes (more string count) that also take away the twing sound? ( i'm not sure if it's true yet)
A good friend of mine, who also bought a Rize around the same time I did, put a Bowrattler on his and it changed the sound completely (in a very good way). Just like almost every other bow company... the string stops leave a lot to be desired.
My buddy did the same thing by adding a Bowrattler on his Rize and said it made a noticable difference in sound and feel of the bow. I recently put on a bent rod suppressor built by a fellow who goes by "Cool Hand Luke" over on AT. It is really nice and only $20tyd.
Well gents make some room at the table, my shop offered me a shop shooter bow from Prime. I ordered a Centergy with 65 pound limbs in Elevated II.
Done deal, gents! He wasn't able to swap PCXL's into the deal, but I'll likely try to pick up a set somewhere along the way. I'm pretty friggin stoked either way!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's where I found this Prime I'm on the AT classifieds all day, every day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
