Since other bow brands are starting to single out each other on this site, I figured it was time for Prime to get into the spotlight as well. Don't you smelly Mathews, Hoyt, PSE, Elite or whatever shooters come sneaking on here to steal some of our "secrets". 8^p My closeout 2016 Rival in RTX is really a sweet shooter. Tuned easy and just a really nice bow. I have a fresh set of Catfish Custom strings in Fury waiting to go on, but am tenatively waiting until the end of May for turkey season to conclude so I don't have to think about retuning a month before hunting. The 2015 black Rival is getting very lonely, as I have not shot a single arrow from it since the new RTX arrived. It was my "go to" bow all last year and will definitely get some shooting time this summer as well.
I'm a Mathews dude and now I am on this thread forever! Ha! Friends don't let friends hunt with Guns! (That includes cross bows)
After shooting a Prime Rival I sold my 2 Mathews and Hoyt turbo spider and now own two Rivals and a Centergy Hybrid. Black Rival set at 58# for indoor target with Hamskee rest, black Gold site and beman hunter arrows 420g A Rival set at 64# in open country for 3D and whitetail with black Gold Pure 75 sight and G5 C-max rest and Hexx arrows at 424g. Centergy Hybrid set at 68# with custom black limbs, sure loc sight with retina lock and a trophy taker rest and Black Eagle Rampage arrows at 480g. Yeah. I'm a Prime guy. In all seriousness, I shot a the 2017 line up against my beloved Mathews Chill and halon. The prime does shoot nice, I just felt more comfortable with the ol' Mathews Friends don't let friends hunt with Guns! (That includes cross bows)
Both my Rivals are set in the 59-60# range with Catfish Custom Fury strings, TT XFC rests, CBE Tek Hybrid Pro sights. The '16 RTX camo version has an 8" Shadow stab wrapped in a Onestringer stab wrap in matching RTX. The '15 black version has a Trinity 8" stab in natural carbon. I need to do a "photo shoot" like Afflicted and get them on here for mutual appreciation. Nice bows, Afflicted.
Thanks. Just put the custom red strings on the Hybrid. I can't believe how quiet that Hybrid shoots. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Step one, add dampers. Step two, when you think you have enough dampers, add some more. Dampers = Confidence = Killing Deer!
I've been a Bowtech guy for years and this year, after shooting the Primes, unloaded my Experience and went with the Rize. I will tell you something about these bows. Nock height dead level and arrow dead down the center of the riser, this bow shot bullet holes. Think that speaks volumes for the outstanding nock travel they have. Also, many are reporting being able to shoot weaker spined arrows, which is also telling of the outstanding nock travel. So far, I'm loving the Rize.
This is what sold me on Prime. I have never had any other bow tune like a Prime. They are definitely in a league of their own.
