I was wondering where TN ranked in price of resident hunting and fishing license. For the state of TN we have what is called a sportsman license. It covers eveything from fishing to deer, turkey,& duck hunting. But it cost as a resident about $170. So how much does your license cost you. Not just to hunt. But if you do everything.
Tx- you can buy the super combo which covers fishing and hunting, I also buy the annual type 2 public lands permit for a total of $144
Wisconsin has a Conservation Patrons License. Cost is $165 for residents. It covers pretty much anything you can think of.
In Minnesota: $25 fishing $30 archery deer/$34 firearm deer $26 archery turkey/$26 firearm turkey A lot of different licenses can be bought though.
Should not have just added up all the separate costs and app fees. The NDG&F really nickel and dime a guy, I really don't notice since the applications are at separate times throughout the summer. $50 Combo License (fishing, general game and habitat, small game and furbearer) + $30 Deer Bow + $25 Waterfall Stamp + $10 Sandhill Crane Permit + $5 Early Goose + $15 Non refundable app fee for Elk, Moose & Big Horn ($5 each) = $135 at least every year. Plus, there is usually some additional cost if drawn due to ND being a lottery for almost everything. Those costs being $15 per turkey season (Fall/Spring), $30 Deer Gun or Pronghorn or $30 for Moose, Elk or Bighorn (if i ever get drawn for these once in a lifetime tags). Confusing i know haha
Wow, I guess we have it good here in GA. Sportsmans license which covers pretty much everything for $65
North Carolina has a Unified Sportsman which covers hunting and fishing in fresh and costal waters for $65. That does not however include a bear tag those are separate now. You still have to get a duck stamp if you hunt ducks.
So we are a little higher than some but a lot with others. Granted ours sportsman includes everything except a federal duck stamp. I just always thought our license was extremely high for a reident. But I guess when you see that it includes everything including doe hunts and public land permits I don't guess its to bad.
TN. Is kinda high I think, but I buy them every year. I use to only use my land owner exemption, but I also have a lease now as well. Maybe it's helps buying them...lol. Who knows...i just wish I lived in unit A.. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk
Here in NY we get Big game tag(rifle) which I can also use on Long Island on a second buck , we get a either sex bow tag, antlerless only tag, a muzzle loader tag(I use for bow on the Island). Than we get to get 2 doe tags free in November. again, all long island, for about $79.00 roughly!!
I bought a lifetime license in NC for $300.00 in 1987 covers all hunting & fishing. If I duck hunted or bear hunted I would have to buy a stamp and tag. My father in law bought my son the same license before he was 1 year old for $100.00. Pretty good deal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We have a program like that. But I choose not to participate in it for my kids.( I know!! It was a dumb idea.) But I think ours starts at $300 for kids.
Ahh, so you know my pain. I'm 60 miles west of Knoxville. I use to hunt in Unit A in Smith county. Was nothing to see 10-15 every sit...lol. Sent from my SM-S327VL using Tapatalk
I understand. My problem is paying as much as we do. Then they e-mail you wanting donations for stuff. I really wish we could change some things in TN to have better deer.
I will drop 140 for PA. That's with some DMAP tags. PA is fairly cheap which is why they're trying to increase the cost. I don't have a problem with paying extra, but I know a lot of people do.
Thank goodness we bought South Carolina LL's before we moved just over the border to NC. Wish I'd done the same before I left WV as a teenager. When I still lived in SC, and before purchasing the LL, we had the sportsman's license for $50. Public and private land hunting and fishing. Helluva deal. No buck tags required until last year, numerous free doe days, free turkey tags.
I have a disabled veteran hunt/fish license, lifetime license cost me $10. I do have to buy WMA permits if I want to hunt public land. I do, however, buy permits every year for duck blind draws, figure I can still contribute in some manner. My son already has his lifetime sportsman license, cost me $200 and he is good for life. I hunt Roberston County (North of Nashville), I agree TN needs to revisit some game laws to change the quality of deer in the state. I'm glad they went from 3 to 2 bucks/year, but wish they would shorten the firearms seasons. It's kind of ridiculous to allow gun hunting for almost 2 months with a 3 doe/day limit. I'd be open to dropping the antlered limit to 1 a year, gets annoying seeing a bunch of small bucks being killed "just because".
