My hunting partner busted his butt this past week, and got the late season food plots in. The following day it rained all day. Couldn't of asked for a better scenario! I was going to head out tomorrow and brush in my ground blind, but Monday and Tuesday we have a tropical storm warning, I don't need my brand-new ground blind being blown away! I don't have any class on Wednesday, so I think I'll make it down there then and set it up.

Just a update that my wife is still in the hospital (17 days so far). I'm having trouble getting into hunting mode. Hopefully she will be out Monday or Tuesday. She will still need some care at home several days after that. Then hopefully I can get into full blown deer killing mode.

I feel pretty dumb but did I miss something? Sorry to hear that man. Hope everything turns out ok.

I didn't get drawn for the city hunt so I'm pretty much limited to one deer more or less in MN. Bummer there but we'll see what happens.

Also could I get added to the group chat? 218-259-0539

Back after the bears tomorrow and Tuesday. Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend.

Peakrut, We Will be praying for your wife to make a speedy recovery!

I had a great weekend at the farm. Put out 4 cameras & checked out my stands, put up my new blind so I can take my 8yr & 11yr old daughters hunting.
There's Lots of good sign out there this year.

Checked my other cameras in the rain yesterday and my early season outlook is dismal at the moment no pictures other than a few squirrels and raccoons. Franklin county where I live in Missouri had a deer test positive for cwd and the conservation department deployed sharp shooters killing around 3500 deer this past winter/ spring 0 more confirmed cases from the sample but the sharp shooters were on the neighboring properties from what I understand ... Maybe they did a little more harm than I thought

The DNR did something like that several years ago in the county I hunt. They got permission from the neighboring land owner & shot a lot of deer off their property.

At least I still have several places to hunt out side of the cwd zones just unfortunate that my spot close to home may not be so hot this year

It looks like the switch has finally flipped to fall here in Wisconsin. Only 73 today and by Wednesday low 60's for highs and upper 40's for low. A fire as finally been lit under my ***. Opener is one week from today.

Was filming my buddy bear hunting last night in northern WI and a 145" 9 point came into the bait at 14 yds. Crazy

He was actually eating corn out of a mix. We've had regular wolves on baits before also

Made it out to set up the ground blind on the urban farm.
Season opener is on Thursday. School has me so busy though with homework I probably won't make it out till next weekend.
