I shot last night and I am more confident than ever was laying them in there at 30 and fourth yards was real good also.
Went out again tonight to a different stand. Put a camera up by the stand. Was pretty thick and tough to see. Going to sneak in tomorrow around noon to trim a couple limbs and mark my trail in somehow so I can navigate it in the dark. No deer tonight.
I will be heading out to the stand again this evening my managed hunt I was drawn for closes on Sunday hopefully something happens this evening.
Bad news. Contributing points to the team just got a whole lot harder for me. Got an email from my hunting partner that the landowners wife doesn't want two people hunting the property. Not the end of the world though. Not sure what I'm gonna do from here. I don't know if I want to spend $150 on Connecticut tags for some public land hunting. I'll figure something out in the next day or two!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Decision made..... I'm going scouting in the morning. Public land in CT it is!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I went out this morning & checked my 4 cameras. One camera wasn't working but between the other 3 I had over 200pics in 3 weeks. Unfortunately not a single pic of a buck, that was very disappointing. Good luck to all those in the woods this week!
I'm still here. Gonna start hunting harder starting this weekend. Just got back from WY. Filmed Dustin shoot a really nice bull Saturday. You guys will see footage and now hunt or die soon.
Can't wait to see the footage!!! I had a great Sunday scouting the public land. Brought back so many awesome memories. Found a few great spots. I'm hoping to start hunting it this Saturday. However, the access area where I used to park, is now posted as private property. I'm not sure if there is still a right away to the public land like there was years ago. I have a call into the town, and to the forest rangers to answer my question. If I cannot access it from that spot, the nearest spot I can get in will add a 1 mile walk to my already three quarters of a mile walk. Not sure given my health, if that something I can jump right into. Fingers crossed for a positive phone call!! Here is a picture of my dad's tree stand he left in the tree 25 years ago. I remember walking up to him and looking up just like this when I shot my first deer!! Here is my dad's first ever Treestand 30 years ago! Two boards in a Hemlock tree!! Here is the spot that I shot my first deer from, (between the two trees)at the time 20 years ago it was a blow down tree on the left, created a little pocket for me to make a natural ground blind Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
