Does anyone know of a way to store or preserve apples for a period of time? We have apple trees off site that are already dropping apples and I wanted to save them for the upcoming season so I dont have to buy any for bait.

You can place them in cold water in a blue 50 gallon barrel.

Will deer go after dehydrated apples?

How long do you think they will last in water?

Never did this but lets just say I dehydrated a few batches of apples. I would prob mix them in a bag with something sweet or molasses then just freeze until I need it. Im sure it will work

You can put them in water for about 20-30 days.

Never done it, but I've been intrigued many times hearing guys using 50 gallon water barrel drums.

I have a friend in the u.p. of michigan that has a root cellar, he spreads a tarp out on the floor and spreads the apples on the tarp, so that air gets to the apples and they keep all through rifle season which is the 15th-30th of nov. it's nice and cool in this root cellar.
