Hey all, I've been scouting deer and been keeping track of it on an app. I've seen tracks, trails, scat, there's water source, a couple of natural food sources, everything you'd hope to see. I'm gonna take day and sit in a stand to see what I can see. I'd use a trail cam but I'm hunting public and in my state you gotta set up and take down the same day, plus I wouldn't want to get it stolen. When I'm looking at what I've marked I've seen scrape lines but I'm wondering what else can I do when it comes to scouting to prep for next fall? Thanks all!
You are doing more than I ever do. I put out a couple of trail cams, but more to see what's hanging around. Pay attention to rub lines and scrape line evidences that's left over, bedding areas, etc. Patterns change once the season opens and the weather/pressure changes, but you'll have a good start. Be prepared to adjust on the fly if you spot a change of habits.
