Seems like the same cost to buy a prefab and build the stilts or build one with stick lumber? Any suggestions?

You can definitely build one cheaper. Depends on what you up for, I refuse to spend the numbers these companies charge.

There seems to be more competition in the area I live in I drive by at least 5 places that sell them on the way to work every day.

Competition drives prices, if you can get one for a good price do it and save your time.

Depends on what you want in your construction. Have you seen a commercial one that meets all your needs?

I never went commercial other than moveable ladder stands. I have littered my place with pressure treated stands since the 80's and can go hunt where ever needed. I have yet to have one fail from old age. I have topped some off with additional PT ply over the floor, the under structure never gets wet. The ladders are chain saw on site construction cedar rails and rungs, notched and nailed. Those last about 10 to 15 years and sinking in is the maintenance issue. Too heavy to move but nice.

One stand constructed in the 80's was having a problem because the rungs were nailed to a youngish cedar tree and the main huge old birch where the stand was. They grew at differing rates causing severely tilted rungs :) Before I had to redo the rungs the tree got hit by lightening and was obliterated. I guess mother nature was not pleased with the construction and vetoed it. Looked odd with the rungs hanging in space off the cedar with the birch MIA.

All I know is these are card board over 2x2,one a packing crate.
The big tower is going to be 11yrs old this year. The one of inside only is dang near 20 yrs old. No leaks BUT some squirrel and mice issues, with easy fixes.

We have Grizzlys, after we bought our first load of them we sold all the other blinds except on banks. The mobility of them is fantastic. I would never build one in a permanent location

There's a company by me that build a quality blind for nearly the price materials would cost me. I build one 4 years ago. Had I known about the blinds, I would have bought one from them instead. My brother bought two nice blinds 6x6, sliding windows, metal room...around $650. SO, RESEARCH FIRST...then make your decision.

Glen I am a guest on my son in laws farm I defer and make suggestions, I no longer care about antler size don't need another mount, not that I would pass but I am too busy with work, I have lot of stuff to do at my place, easier to just spend the money and have it show up complete.

Buddy of mine bought a small flat bed farm wagon at a auction and mounted his ground blind to it. Makes a great field edge setup that's mobile. Told me had a little over $600 in it.
