    17 Rem or 17 HMR? The 17 Rem will be fine for coyotes but the HMR would be a little weak IMO.

    This was my first cat and my first season hunting predators so I wish I could give you more information on the local cat population, but I just don't have that information. The wildlife officer who tagged mine made the comment that it was a great first cat. Not the largest she'd tagged this year but not the smallest either. She also eluded to the fact that this year had a large harvest of cats. my cat was #397 in the county. I guess that's a lot.
