Just wondering if anyone out there has been calling coyotes much this winter. I haven't had too much luck myself. Although i did shoot a large male timber wolf a couple weeks ago. I'm wondering if the wolves have anything to do with no responses to calling. The coyotes are there because i have found several deer carcasses in the last week or so.

I tried it a bit back in Dec. but didn't have any luck. The yotes are around but its really hard to find them in the small broken woodlots around here.

Haven't been out yet. Heading to camp in Ontario in early March to try calling in some wolves again.

I talked to my uncle tonight who hunts in the same area i do. between him and another guy they have shot 22 coyotes since the end of deer season in november. Not sure what i'm doing wrong. I imagine the more go out and call the more success i'll have. I know there are lots of coyotes, its just the matter being in the right place at the right time.

I wish we could kill wolves, here the tree huggers love them. Maybe I will come to Canada one day, what does that type of hunt run???

I have only seen one wolf in my entire hunting escapades.
It freaked me out! I never heard a noise from him, he just kept on moving. What a gorgeous animal.

I'm not protecting them, I'm just sayin'. They are pretty cool animals.

In Ontario its $250 for a NR tag and around $90 for the small game license. You could DIY if you were inclined. If you were to go on a guided hunt it would be $1500 to $3500.

I'm not sure about non-residents for sure but a trapper's license is 5 dollars. That is all residents are required to have.
