I just invested in some Spring Green this year. I am anxious to get in the stand with it for probably the first 4 weeks of our Archery season. The last two, I will likely be in Fall Gray.

IMO, Fall Gray is the best all-around Predator you can buy. For whitetails, this stuff works year-around, and breaks up your outline better than any other Predator pattern IMO....

I agree for the most part that Spring Green/Fall Brown/Fall Gray is better than Deception, but the right material and the right cut on the fabric can still make Deception look pretty darn good.

I've got a pretty good variety of Predator, and I do have a Deception fleece vest that I really like a lot and wear all the time. It really was cut well so that the white blotches are in the right places to still break me up with good contrast compared to some Deception I've seen.

I also have wolfskin suits in Spring Green and Fall Brown that I absolutely love, the spring green is awesome for turkey hunting and any fall hunts before foliage drop.

Just a few weeks ago, Rob and I were turkey hunting and got caught off guard by a yote coming into our calls. 50 yards away in hardwoods with me in the wide open just standing without cover, he hung out for several minutes because he couldn't quite make out what I was, another 10 yards closer and it would have been game over for him. Anyone that has spent time hunting yotes knows they just don't do this often unless your really well hidden. It's amazing stuff.

    I agree 100% buddy.

You got it, RJ... I've said it for years; Deception CAN look good on the right material, IF you're in a position to hand-sort through the garments.

I am hiding from hunters as much as I am deer.

Take a hunting trip to Eastern Ohio sometime to see what I am talking about....

You have to be a :ninja: around here.

Your bias for FG is well known yet you don't wear it exclusively in your videos?

I have Fall Grey and as far as I'm concerned, it's the PERFECT camo in the RIGHT circumstance. It's NOT a catch all pattern.

That's why I've always personally like the Fall Brown that's harder to come by. Early Fall throughout the winter it's going to work and if you can ONLY afford one Predator pattern, specifically in Grey Wolf Wollens, Fall Brown is my choice because I am also a spring turkey hunter and I've successfully worn it in the spring woods. I would never wear Fall Grey (at least the Fall Grey with the white/whites) in my spring woods. That's just me. :d

He did say for whitetails though Rob.

Personally, I don't really care for any of the predators for turkey hunting, when plopped down against the base of a tree, I like Ultimate Camo.

I hope to have some more Fall Grey gear by the time rut is full swing here.

Gotta say I agree, didn't have my Ultimate prior though. :d

And I understood the whitetail part, just making notes to affording one set and also be a turkey hunter. One should think about that if they do both.

Looks like I am the minority here as I purchased/used the new warp knit Brown Deception and used it out here (west) this past month on Turkeys and bears. I was really impressed as the turks continually walked by me on several occasions and looked right through me. I had both whitetails and elk very very close while bear hunting..looked right through me ..all off the ground hunting. I'll probably get some light weight spring green deception for the early archery season.

    Shed,

I am not saying the deception is no good, as it is good camo (better than most all offerings from other companies). I am just saying I think it is a step back from fall brown.

I believe the sharper edges and the black branches create more depth and cause more confusion to the eye on the fall brown than the deception does.

I own a little bit of deception, it just does not impress me as much as fall brown.
