I am going to be switching my camo during this off season to predator camo. I have done some searching on this stuff for a couple of months now. I will be wearing it just for Whitetail hunting from a treestand. I believe I will be going with the Fall Grey pattern. I have two questions about it, first, if you were buying predator camo, would you get Fall Grey or Deception Brown? Second, would you wear Fall Grey during early October? I know we all hunt different areas of the Country and some might work better in different areas. Just like to hear what you guys think that own Predator Camo. Thanks.
Here ya go... Forgive the link to another site, but I think you'll find all you need here: http://www.huntingnet.com/forum/bowhunting/213556-predator-camo-pics-youve-asked-last-two-years.html
I love Predator camo. Here in NC I found myself still wearing spring green during most of Nov. There was still alot of foilage on the trees. For late season Fall Grey is great and would probaly fit best for you up north in all phases of the season. I dont think you can go wrong w/ wither the fall grey or deception as both are good patterns. My main grip w/ Predator is it needs to be availble in more quality fabrics.
Thanks Greg. Actually when I was trying to find out all the info I could on this, I ran across the article when I searched the forum. Great write up.
This is ALL i wear.... when theres heavy forage on the trees i wear green deception, but as soon as leaves turn and start falling im in Brown deception the rest of the year. Heck even during all this snow it looks great up in a tree. I def think its the most natrual color and pattern for deer hunting. The greens work great for turkey hunting too
I also think all of the camo patterns are good. I have one gripe though............I've been wearing the Deception brown fleece jacket in this cold weather and its much warmer than I thought it would be. Now I need to add the matching pants and will before next year's late season.
I wear grey and brown all year long here in Michigan and Illinois.. Predator is the best hands down no matter what time of year..
Predator Camo Been a fan of it since I started hunting 20 years ago, always wore fall Brown till about 8 years ago and bought into the Fall grey pattern and have never looked back. I had my daughter make me a pair of gaitors out of my Winter white Predator Coveralls for my big Kodiak black boots that I use with my old Skyline reversible thinsulated Coveralls. I use Grey Wolf Woolens Mitts in Predator Fall Brown also. Now if you want winter clothing in Predator, look up Grey Wolf Woolens, pricey but worth every cent. Rocky
I feel that Predator has the best, most effective, camo patterns available, today. I have a few different outfits from them, and, I have noticed that the deer basically look right through you !! I do wear other stuff, but, that's only because I have no insulated gear in Predator Camo. I am considering buying some of their Scent-Lok and insulated gear for next season so that I can utilize their pattern, season long.
The truth is, Brown or Gray, it all looks the same to a deer. They're mostly color blind. I went with Fall Brown from Gray Wolf, only because the Gray bothered me more than the deer. Brown just seemed to blend better to ME. The deer didn't give a hoot whether it was brown or gray.
I switched a few years back, absolutely love the way deer, elk, turkeys, you name it look right through me, on the ground or in a tree.
